The Last Long Weekend of the Summer...

Labour Day in Canada and Labor Day in the United States...

Labour Day is an annual holiday to celebrate the achievements of workers. Labour Day has its origins in the labour movement, specifically the eight-hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest.

For many countries, Labour Day is synonymous with, or linked with, International Workers’ Day, which occurs on 1 May. For other countries, Labour Day is celebrated on a different date, often one with special significance for the labour movement in that country. In Canada and the United States, it is celebrated on the first Monday of September and considered the official end of the summer holiday for most of the respective countries, as public school and university students return to school that week or the following week.

1. Child labour …   More than 85 million children are subjected to physical labor, exploitation and trafficking…

 2. Child Slavery …   Examples…

a) In Afghanistan there is a tradition, it is an ancient practice called Bacha Bazi … So young boys are taught to dance and sold to the best buyer…The children, poor boys dance for their masters and become sexually abused slaves…

...And of course he is a boy...in his early teens...

Dancing with a snake...Dancing for the elders...the Big Brothers...
and hence afterwards...

The irony is that Western Civilization has sent soldiers to teach bring democracy to Afghanistan…

b) One of the most pervasive forms of child slavery is domestic servants…                                                                                                                   It is estimated that 10.5 million children  - 70% females… as young as 5 years old…, are used as domestic workers around the world… Of course after there domestic duties they are also abused sexually…

And you think this happens only in far away places… but check this…

c) Children from China and Vietnam are being trafficked into Great Britain and being forced to work in indoor cannabis farms … many of these farms are located in Scotland…

BBC reported cannabis farms cultivated on industrial scale...
 using child labour...

d) An estimated 30 or more boys, as young as two years old, are abducted monthly from Pakistan and sold to rich Gulf Emirates … as camel jockeys… They stunt the young boys physical growth deliberately so as they will be better jockeys…and whether they win the races or not, they are abused sexually… afterwards…

Riding for their lives...
They fire guns after them..to make them run faster...and if they die in the gun fire...they are replaceable...

e) The rich and powerful are always in need of organ transplants… The U.N. has estimated that 70 000 kidneys from the black market worldwide…Most of them from poorer parents selling the organs of their kids…

3. Child Soldiers …                                                                                                  Again, the U.N. reports hundreds of thousands child soldiers worldwide… Children as young as 5-6 years old are forced into terrorist gangs in civil wars…They are kept in slave conditions and also sexually abused… These children become so conditioned to war and killing that … killing will be as routine as eating or drinking…and of course sexual exploitation will be as routine as sleeping…

Of course we may extend the list … to….

 4. Discrimination against women workers…

 5. Child Abuse …

 6. Sexual Exploitation of Children and Women and Man …

7. Discrimination against immigrant workers …

Indeed today is Labor Day… and we have much to be thankful and we have much to think about…

Big Brother turns a blind eye to worldwide abuses of children and labor… Capital has the freedom to migrate…while people, labor, is force to survive under abusive conditions…

They argue about “minimum wage”…They debate in the parliaments… After all, that’s how democratic norms are upheld…But they have to argue and they have to debate about “living wage” … If the minimum wage is not enough to survive…then what…?

It is on the news still… The U.S. Burger King is buying Canadian Tim Horton’s … and will relocate its headquarters in Canada…in order to pay less corporate tax… Capital can evade borders…capital can abuse the system…capital can migrate… So borders are redundant for capital… it should be the same with labor…Workers should be able to move as freely as capital…

What happens when two giants marry...?

Borders another way of controlling populations and exploiting workers…and they should be abolished… We should create One World and ONE Global Village…

The abuse of children and exploitation of work should stop…

But … Check again the reality…

ISLAMIC STATE MILITANTS SELL WOMEN FOR $1,000

The modern menace has pulled another move from the medieval playbook: selling slave wives. At least two dozen kidnapped women — from a Kurdish- and Arabic-speaking Yazidi religious minority in Iraq — have been spirited to Syria, forced to convert to Islam and sold to Islamic State fighters for $1,000 each, according to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. More than 300 abducted Yazidi women were “distributed as spoils of war,” while IS rejected attempts to buy the victims’ freedom.
                          Selling women...
                                                                Kidnapping women...

Raping women...

It is a sad commentary on our civilization which is paraded as religion… The Big Brother is abusive everywhere... be it in organized religion - the church, organized politics - the state, organize business - the work place, organized education - the schools and universities... Big Brother is relentless ... even they create wars for profit and for exploitation...

Today is Labour Day... the last long weekend of the summer... back to school and back to work ... Think how we can eliminate exploitation...and start with your home and your community... may be we can learn better, more human ways, to communicate with each other...

Today is Labour Day... Thank you mother and father for providing everything for you...
