They say, "the pen is mightier than the sword."
 *****************
Some new evidence...
Regip Zarakoglu, writer/journalist jailed in Turkey.
Orhan Pamuk, Nobel laureate-literature, not welcomed in Turkey/Azerbejan.
Both have been accused of insulting Turkishness....
Salman Rushdie recently cancelled his travels to India - there were threats and he heeded.... He has been regarded a threat to his own religion and some are not happy.
China has imprisoned several dissident writers.
In Mexico the threat is much more... they just assassinate journalist.
The rulers are scarred of the ruled...They always have been...
That's why they created Kafka's web.

*********
A wise man once told me ..."You are allowed".

I thought about it....Indeed, "You are allowed" to be what you want to be...
When we judge others, then eventually we create conflicts...When we create conflicts, war is around the corner.
I hate wars!
The wise man is correct indeed...we are allowed....and hence others are allowed too...
Attempt new ways of doing what we have done so far.
To be judgemental is to become a "benevolent despot", but to allow others to differ and to attempt/err and to progress/flourish is divine...
Celebrating our differences and the diversity in society is what we are allowed...
***
I guess it's about time to take the lantern and search for more wise men...

Every day is a new day for trying...a trial and error
This is the best scientific method invented by humans.
But,
For ordinary people ...the terminology is trial and error.
On the other hand, the same method for the scientists who goes into his lab or her office and tries to find cure for cancer; tries for a new technological invention/inovation,  "trial and error" transforms into research...
What a "respectable" terminology...!
I try to encourage my students to dare and to try and not be afraid of erring. After all, that's how you fly...and that's the stuff scientists are made of...

Day 1

Some questioned …Why Kafka…? I do not have an answer…, but
The name appealed to me.
We are in a web…woven by society…restriction is everywhere.
We talk the words to make sense…to others. We want to be understood.
We attend functions to be seen… by others. We want to socialize.
We follow the fashion to be appreciated …by others.
We do not swear…we do not eat garlic…we do not…..and then we do not again…
A powerful web.
Some suggested that Kafka will be boring… perhaps …after all who may please all… at all times?
But,
  • ·         Play with the letters in the name…take away letters and see what you get…It is fascinating…isn’t it?
  • ·         Read Kafka’s Trial and Metamorphosis…and be amazed with the magic…the web.

I mused with Parev, but then I did not want to confine myself/ourselves to ethnic chic or national boundaries.
Kafka is timeless…So is the web that society has invented… technology shattered some of the limits…I hope it shatters more …
