Two visions and two Worlds...

A Tale of Two Visions
The schools have opened in the U.S. and soon they will be in Canada too.
There will again begin the cycle of blaming teachers and the educational system for failure...The most vocal will be parents of students who are failing or are in trouble academically as well as socially...
But the educational system is based on three main pillars...
1. The political...that is Big Brother support...funding and political support are essential...for the educational system to succeed...
The curriculum and funding are one of the most important pillars...
2. Parental involvement and support are crucial... No matter what the system and the teacher attempt...if the parents at home will not educate their child...give new vision and explain the vital importance of education...The student will not succeed...
3. The admin and teachers...
The admin should not be the guardian of a prison house...The schools should not be treated as disciplining the misfits...The schools are above all educational venues... where the kids will learn how to reason and how to think and if necessary how to rebel against injustice and absurd social norms...
The students should not be treated as empty bags...where we fill them will facts (instead of knowledge) and when the bag is full of facts...we dump them on society...
That way...we fail the students and also fail society...
The three pillars should cooperate and should supplement each other...If the educational system because an antagonistic arena...Parents against teachers...teachers against the political and educational system...Parents against administration and the educational system...Then we will have failure...
But in all of this...the main burden is on the parents...After all, education starts at home...and the home environment is crucial to instill the love of education in the kid...
There was a Portuguese teacher in my last school and he used to remind us that the Portuguese community by and large is not impressed by education...They want their sons and daughters to complete high school as soon as possible...don't mind the knowledge...don't mid the marks...just survive and go through the system...and afterwards go into some kind of trade...So the teacher had a good fight in his hands when he graduated and wanted to continue to become a teacher...
The gardener in my neighborhood in LA... a ethnic Mexican, brings his son with him to work...His son is 6th grade...He wants to be a gardener like the farther...
So these kids who do not have parental support and a vision that comes from their home...of course will fail in the school...
Of course afterwards the parents will blame the system and the teachers... After all, it is very hard to accept responsibility...
Here are two visions...Here is the tale of two visions...

1. The GOOD...The Visionary...The 10 Year old CEO of Cory's Cookies...

Meet The 10-Year-Old CEO Of Mr. Cory’s Cookies!

Nieves began selling his sweets when he was 5 years old by offering passersby hot cocoa, lemonade, and cookies from a stand in his hometown of Englewood, New Jersey.
Cory Nieves....The 10 year old CEO in different positions during the day...
Cory Nieves is a very chic dressed 10-year-old CEO
Cory's vision...building a cookie empire...He has started with a simple enough task...He sold lemonade...He wanted to buy a car for his mom...Tried more and sold cookies...He was smart enough to follow the discussion of elders and the general trend for healthy eating...So started an ALL-NATURAL-COOKIE business...
His mom supported him...and encouraged his vision...That is the crucial foundation upon which Cory progressed...
Now he is very successful and wants to expand his ALL-NATURAL cookie business on line...
He also wants to expand into designing...Check his chic dressing style...
Cookie empire and designing...a beautiful vision...
Healthy cookies and beautiful dresses...Why not....?

2. Another vision ...in the same vicinity... Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania...

So...They drive to this overpass...and look around...buy highway below...they get excited...and roll a rock from the overpass to the highway below... A car is hit...They get...(indeed I do not know what...!)

Sharon Budd, 52, of Uniontown, Ohio, was in the front passenger seat of the car driven by her daughter when the rock hurtled through the car windshield and struck her in the face.
Sharon Budd, 52, with her family
Budd is a teacher at Edison Middle School in Massillon. In a statement from the school principal, Diane Kittelberger said:  “Our school community has been devastated with the tragic news. Mrs. Budd is a very special person and loved by all. She is a kind, compassionate teacher who would do anything to help her students. She is well thought of among her colleagues and they are in shock over this news. She is a strong woman and we are praying that her strength and determination will help her fight through. Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the Budd family.”
Two brothers and two other teenagers...roll a rock from an overpass down the highway below...
MIFFLINBURG — Two juveniles have told police a 17-year-old is the teen who threw a rock from an Interstate 80 overpass that smashed through the window of a car, critically injuring a passenger.
The four - 19,18-17, stoped on the overpass and threw rocks and one hit a car passing by and Sharon Budd, a teacher, was injured...

Two visions and two ways of growing up...
Cory's mom supported him and helped him succeed...
The other teens just rolled a rock...and got a kick out of it...
Different people and different visions...
Parents make or break the kid(s) ... teachers are their just to help... They cannot carry all the burden...
After all, as it is said before, it is very hard to kick against spikes...
