Questions to Muse...
This is indeed an inspiring choice...Consider...
- A Pakistani and an Indian...
- A Muslim and a Hindi...
- Two countries that have waged war...
- A Male and a Female ....
- Both Kailash (Satyarthi) and Malala have been everyday humble people... of humble origin...
That has to inspire us...That ALL of us can make a difference...That ALL of us do NOT have to accept the diktats of the Big Brothers and Big Sisters... That if we work hard and persevere we will do it...
So...
Be inspired...Get involved and Make a Difference...
I am sure by now the blog readers-followers know who Malala Yousafzai is… A bullet that was commissioned to kill her, magically was transformed into the Nobel Prize for Peace…
Malala’s win was somewhat expected…She has become a Global Village icon
of courage and outspoken grace and defender-promoter of the rights of girls to
an education…end of gender discrimination and bias…
But the person who shares the prize is relatively unknown… So here HE is…
Kailash Satyarthi …
· They tell that at six
years old Kailash noticed a boy at the entrance of his school…The kid was not
attending school, but was there to shine shoes…The kid was toiling shining
shoes…
Those of us who have been to the Middle
east or the Indian subcontinent, Indonesia, Thailand…and other poor countries, have seen boys paddling
candies or shining shoes to earn few cents to survive the day…They are abused physically
and exploited sexually too…
This scene of the boy working shining shoes…Made an
indelible impression on Kailash…
· 60 years old,
Indian… from the land of Ghandi…
· Defender of
children’s rights and anti-slavery activist…
· Fighting against the
reality that millions of kids are forced to work in slavery to pay their
parents’ debts…
· Fighting against exploitation
and trafficking of kids…
· After the encounter
at school with the shoe-shining-boy, Kailash urged his classmates to donate
their textbooks to the poor… In India and other poorer countries the kids BUY
their books…
COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS NORTH AMERICA…!
· Also he urged his
classmates to talk to their parents to pay the tuition-school fees of the
poorer kids…if they can afford…
· Kailash continued
his education and graduated as an engineer… I ALWAYS KNOW THAT ENGINEERS WITH
HEART CAN DO LOTS OF GOOD… Mind and heart working together can win Nobels for PEACE…for sciences…for humanity…
· But Kailash’s heart
was not in engineering…He continued to work for the kids and free them from so
called, bonded-labour …That is from slavery... working to pay parents’ debts…
· He founded Bachpan
Bachao Andolan – Mission to Save the Children…This was in 1980…
· Built an ashram…
Liberation Retreat…to teach skills to kids who were liberated from slavery…
· This movement grew
into more than 80 000 people and 750 branches…and functioned all over the world
with other groups to save the children…
They try to influence governments-Big
Brothers and Big Sisters, businesses and organizations to save the children and
stop child labour and child slavery and stop exploiting kids for GREED and PROFIT…
· They have saved 75
000 – 100 000 kids around the globe...

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II on Friday made Hollywood star

violence in war zones.
In a ceremony at Buckingham Palace, Jolie was
presented with the Insignia of an Honorary Dame Grand Cross of the Most
Distinguished Order of St. Michael and St. George.
Jolie, 39, is a special envoy to the U.N.
High Commissioner for Refugees, and she co-founded the Preventing Sexual
Violence Initiative with former British Foreign Secretary William Hague.
"It is a myth that rape is an inevitable
part of conflict," Jolie sais in June during the London opening of the
biggest summit of its kind aimed at ending sexual violence in conflict.
"There's nothing inevitable about it. It is a weapon of war aimed at
civilians. It has nothing to do with sex, everything to do with power."

...And THINK before you open your mouth...
"The mouth speaks the leftover from the heart..." according to Jesus...
I am sure this Microsoft guy is intelligent... I am sure he knows much better...and I am sure he can take his feet out of his mouth...
But,
Will he do it...?
He has to a PROPER inspiration...a GOOD roll model... and not a jerk on stage and in everyday life - in his workplace or at home...
He has been endowed with MUCH...and he has MUCH MORE responsibility...than being a jerk...
NEW YORK (AP) -- Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella apologized Thursday night and said he was wrong for saying that women don't need to ask for a raise and should just trust the system to pay them well.
Nadella was blasted on Twitter and in blog posts for his comments, which were made earlier Thursday at an event for women in computing. Tech companies hire many more men than women. And beyond the tech industry, women are typically paid less than men.
He had been asked to give his advice to women who are uncomfortable requesting a raise. His response: "It's not really about asking for the raise, but knowing and having faith that the system will actually give you the right raises as you go along." Not asking for raise, he added, is "good karma" that would help a boss realize that the employee could be trusted and should have more responsibility.
The boss of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, has apologised for remarks he made advising women not to ask for a pay rise but to have "faith in the system".
At the conference,
called the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, he said: "It's
not really about asking for the raise, but knowing and having faith that the
system will actually give you the right raises as you go along.
"Because that's
good karma. It'll come back because somebody's going to know that's the kind of
person that I want to trust,"he said....
If not asking for raise is "good
karma"... and that women, to that matter all of us, should trust
the system..., then is not the inequity generated by the SAME SYSTEM…?
Since the system had promoted inequality
and inequity… If women are paid 87 cents for the male dollar…for the same work…
How can an intelligent man like this Microsoft guy suggest to women…TRUST THE
SYSTEM…!
What a sophisticated jerk…!
Do not emulate this sophist... But be energized and get involved...and Make a difference...to take these males head on...and why not push them aside... for fresh air...
Women deserve as much as their male counterparts... They deserve equal treatment as their male co-workers... After all, THEY ARE AS CAPABLE AS THEIR MALE FRIENDS...
