Democracy Chinese Style...or Western Style... are essentially Identical...

Democracy... Tortured concept ... and a license to invade and subjugate others...
In the name of democracy they invaded Iraq... To introduce democracy they entered Afghanistan... To make the Middle East democratic they initiated the "Arab Spring"... This "Spring' was/is supported by Saudi Monarchy... The Emirs of the smaller sheikdoms...and Islamic regime of Turkey... and other Western allies ...
Democracy is a licence which the powerful are using for political hegemony and economic benefits... They condemn the Russian "oligarch" as undemocratic... and they are correct... They denounce the Chinese Communist as undemocratic... and they are absolutely correct...
But the issue is what is democracy...? One human...one vote...? What id "one human-one vote" generates slavery-racism in the case of African Americans, massacres like the plays of cowboys and Indians in the case of Native North Americans... or poverty and hunger in so many North American children... or gun violence in the case of Chicago (just to mention a city in North America) or police initiated violence and shootings against African American teenagers... in Ferguson and New York and other cities...
How democratic is democracy... if it does not alleviate the social ills... and if it does not address the needs of society...? 
How democratic is democracy...when the gap between poor and rich... between the 99% and the 1% widens...?
I am not sure...of this tortured concepts...
I am not sure... if it is a panacea for Global ills...
I am not sure if it can be used by the POWERFUL...by the Big Brothers...to invade nations and to subjugate people...
How can Saudi Arabia...export democracy to other Arab states... How can Turkey be a model for democratic rights in the Islamic world... when they subjugate and massacre the Kurds and censor social media whenever they please...?
How can we uphold Western model of democracy...

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Wednesday continued its abolition of limits on election spending, striking down a decades-old cap on the total amount any individual can contribute to federal candidates in a two-year election cycle. The ruling, issued near the start of a campaign season, will very likely increase the role money plays in American politics.

The Supreme Court decision twists the meaning of democracy and ignores the balancing of individual rights... A rich person who donates and a worker who does not have enough to donate... should not they have the same democratic rights... But the decision skews the "individual rights" in favour of the money bags...

Former hedge-fund executive, Tom Steyer, has donated $56 million to Democrats...

Does he have the same democratic rights as a teacher...?

Will Obama receive him as a guest in the White House and listen to his advice...?

Will the teacher be allowed near Obama...?

He donated $56 million... So...
He will have more influence and power because of that...

On the other hand, the Koch brothers...

They have the money... and the Supreme Court ruling gives them more "democratic" rights...

The money bags have more rights in Western style democracies than the general public...

May be there is a difference of the degree...of corruption and the dilution of democratic principals...
May be there is a nuance that this or that system is better...
But the REALITY is that all are BASTARDIZATION of democracy... all are corrupted by MONEY and POWER...

And Hong Kong students are in a rebellious mood for democratic rights...But as intelligent youth...they should realize that there are no absolute rights and their is no idealized system...

The IDEAL is HEGELIAN UTOPIA... The ideal is a state that we aspire to...BUT unfortunately does not exists...

The protests calling for full democracy for Hong Kong began in September...But i am not sure what the students and youth meant by "democracy" and which system they were attempting to emulate...

Idealist students and youth demanding democracy...

or may be waiting for Godot...

This a supreme example of a "double talk"... They attack the Kochs...but they never state what they understand by democracy... These are the "liberal democrats" tying their version of hypocrisy...of the Big Brother...

Our great nation can no longer be hijacked by right-wing billionaires like the Koch brothers.For the sake of our children and our grandchildren, for the sake of our economy, we have got to let democracy prevail.

And the liberals are not ashamed when another money bag attempts to corrupt them...

At the end of the day, a corrupted democracy, Western or Chinese or Russian or Islamist-Jihadists are CORRUPTED...and I do not want to be a gauge in order to measure the degree of corruption and perversion and distortion of "democracy"...

The bottom line is... Power corrupts...and the degree of corruption is in the eyes of the beholder...
