I Wish the Pope and Obama and Putin WILL LEAD BY EXAMPLE...

The Pope and His advice “how to Be happy”

Pope Francis ... and the Ten Things that we CAN DO for Happiness....he Suggests...

Ten Ways to BE HAPPY…

I am sure the Pope is not attempting to imitate the other …“Ten Commandments”…

…And here they are… Here are the 10  according Pope Francis …

1. Live and let live…
My good friend Ross, a colleague in my last school, always reminded everyone… “You are allowed…” and whenever he repeated that I respected him more and more…

2.  Give yourself to others… Donate…Do a RAK and always remember others…
In my math class I gave the example of …
“And there came a certain poor widow, and she three in two mites, which make a farthing.”  Mark 12:42 – King James Bible.
I reminded the students that the “widow” gave more as a percent and that the prince who donated few dollars gave less as a percent of his wealth…
It is a good example to learn and calculate per cents and ratios and rates…

3. Move quietly in the World…
As people mature and grow up … they have to be more pensive and peaceful…
The Pope remembers Racardo Guitaldes, an Argentine novelist… he has an metaphor in one of his novels… a person is “a rocky stream that runs over everything,” but as people grow up, they become “a running river, quietly peaceful.”
They learn to listen to your inner voice and to listen to others too…

4. Enjoy Leisure…
Ah…that’s our favourite…
Reject consumerism…and do not make decision based on monetary values…
It is indeed stupid “to be like the Johns’ ”…You make yourself miserable and always think of “What others will say…?” You lose your independence and individuality…
Relax and enjoy yourself and your time…
Remember money can be replaced…but time can never be replaced… So enjoy yourself and your friend and your family in your own time and in your own space…
Relax and enjoy the day... reflect and do a RAK
Who cares what the others think…!
I had a friend from Greece in my university years… he resided in the university dormitories… and never locked his door… Whatever little he had, he was willing to share with ALL…He was always happy and never thought… "What if they break in and take…” this or that... He did not need home insurance… He was freer than the rest of us… he was definitely happier than the rest of us…
Once I spotted him walking in the rain…
I was curious and asked; “Why you are walking in the rain …”
“Just for the experience…” he said…
Much later I tried it too… It was a thunderstorm in Toronto…One of those hot humid August storms…I decided to walk in the rain…
It was fun…and today I am richer for that…and happier too… Whenever I remember that… I see the wondering images of the on lookers… They thought I had lost it…But the next day I went to the classroom and taught Calculus…
It was a wonderful experience…though…

5. Sunday is for family … for yourself … for relaxing … for meditation … for reflection…
People always want to live like a king…
Well damn it…Why not live like God and rest on Sunday…?
“Honour the Sabbath”….Exodus 20:8

Live like God...relax and enjoy YOUR creation...

Relax…You do not have to attend church and be tortured by the homily of the semi-literate priest, rabbi, mullah, or the monk… just stay with your friends and family… have a glass of wine, may be a vodka too… Check the flowers in the field…Listen to the birds… Enjoy and relax and reflect…
If you can do that…You will be happier and you will live longer to enjoy your happiness…

6. Find jobs for the young people…
That’s what I was teaching for…I was a classroom teacher just to facilitate the young to respect the work ethics and invest their time in an honest day’s work… and enjoy that too…
The youth should have jobs… They have to work… Otherwise society will suffer… They will rebel and they will tore down the greedy habits of the rich and famous…and bring down the Big Brothers… I hope they will not become NEW AGE Big brothers…

The youth have to have GOOD work and learn to respect nature…When we abuse nature, we will never be happy…
Polluting nature will suffocate us…
Honest day’s work and respect of nature… another key to being happy…

7. And of course respect nature…
Respect nature as you respect yourself…After all you need it to survive and prosper…

8. Let go of negative feelings and negativity asap…
The more you complain the more miserable you will be…
Be pro-active and change everything that you do not like…
In fact… “Flush your negativity down the drain…”
Do not dwell on negativity...Don;t make yourself miserable...Flush it...

9. Jesus said get out there and spread the word…Matthew 28: 16-20
But never be forceful … remember the first item above… “Let others be…”
Above all, teach by example… not just by words…
I wish the Pope will follow this advice and go and sleep on the bench in front of the church… Be homeless for a day or two … and have the experience and set an example…

I wish all the priests and Big Brothers will set examples…
I had a slogan on my blackboard… “What will Jesus Do…?” May the priests and the church hierarchy and all the worldly and church princes will set us examples… instead of preaching to us the things that THEY DON”T DO, BUT WE HAVE TO DO…
I hate phony people … Be  they Church Princes… or Big Brothers …or Worldly Princes…
Lead others by your example…always…

10. And Finally, work for PEACE…
Pass the PEACE Please....          I love it...Pass the PEACE again...Please...

I wish the Pope everyday … will phone Obama and Putin and ALL the rest and remind them to work for PEACE…
Working for peace cannot be selective…
We cannot BOMB IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN and GAZA and then ASK for PEACE in UKRAINE… it stinks of hypocrisy…
In our quest for PEACE we have to embrace ALL and BAN wars everywhere… Not only when it is convenient for us…

Indeed, as Jesus affirmed, “Blessed are the peacemakers”... In Gaza and in Ukraine and in Iraq and in Afghanistan and in Syria and Palestine and Israel and Jerusalem...
Peace on Earth...Let the Global Village BE ...
