Personal... Two cups of coffee
Every morning I start my day with two cups of coffee...
I prepare it when my wife is still sleeping and enjoy the first cup scanning and digesting the news of the day... most of it repetitious and most of it disgusting... pandering to the needs of Big brothers...
I scan the major news outlets... and categorize them under Greed of the 1%... Violence in society... wars...
Of course there are the international squabbles among Big Brothers... like the NATO-West calling Russians names and Russians retaliating... this is propaganda and not news... and also there are the national squabbles too... like the liberal side calling the conservatives names and the conservatives calling the liberal side cheaters and so on... In all countries the news is more or less the same... in all countries the news are almost identical... and in all countries the people pay for the nonsensical squabbles of the 1%...
But want to know what is happening and I hope there will be something new...
There never is... It's all the GREED, the violence within and the wars outside...

The second cup is more delicious than the first... I take my cup of coffee outside to the backyard... sit in the sun with my wife... and listen to the chirping of the birds and enjoy the morning sun and the beauty around... the trees, the scent of flowers, the singing of the birds and the tranquility of nature...
The cars spew and belch... they violate the peace of nature and pollute the air... But the trees and the birds and the sun and the flowers overcome the unwelcome intrusion of the humans and the cars...
I enjoy the second cup more than the first... 
The first brings in the stupidity of humans... the second brings me the love of mother nature... transcends me to lovely places where my imagination is the only limit... where hope for a better tomorrow flourishes... 
...and
I hope... for an even brighter and better tomorrow...

I love the morning two cups of coffee... it sets the tune for a good day... happy day... the better day that it will be... that I will make it to be...

...And now the not so personal things...

America is attempting to make peace with Cuba... I am not sure that it will be easy... I am not sure that the U.S. will let the occupied parcels of Cuban soil and return them to Cubans... I hope they will relinquish the occupied lands and let Cubans be... but I am not sure...
On the other hand they will still squeeze Venezuela and they will make the life of Venezuelans bitter and bitter till they revolt against their government... the sole reason is that the Venezuelan government has slipped outside the U.S. hegemony... Of course we will brand them as "socialist" and "danger to world peace" and "undemocratic"...
But, 

• Since when being a socialist is a sin...? 
• There is NO peace the the world so as Venezuela can or may endanger...
• Why Venezuela is undemocratic and must be condemned and the likes of Saudi Arabia, the Emirates in the Middle East and Turkey should be praised... ? Simple... Venezuela is attempting an independent policy while Saudi Arabia and the Emirates and Turkey are following the NATO's and West's hegemony...

But of course,
The Venezuelan leaders are Big Brothers too... They may want to be independent of U.S. lead, but they also are part of the world 1% and they do not care much about the people... the difference between Venezuela's leadership and that of the "democratic" West leaders is just a difference of degree... The difference is just few shades of white... and white does not have many shades...

They all belong the league of Big Brothers without borders...

Shortages of basic products such as corn, milk and chicken have plagued Venezuela for years, creating long lines at supermarkets and pushing inflation well past the 60% mark just in the last year alone. More recently, shortages are affecting people in the South American country in a more personal way. Venezuelan consumers complain condoms and birth control pills are nowhere to be found. Shortages that first affected the dining table have now made their way into the bedroom.

There is indeed a point that struck me...
If there is shortage of necessities... who cares about the condoms and the birth control pills...?
The reported is an ass hole and is attempting to confuse the readers by lumping apples and oranges together...
I realize that the reporters of main news are part of the 1% brotherhood... I know that the reporters are part of the Big Brothers without Borders...

Every year Sports Illustrated makes asses of its readers... and this year too...

I visited my sister today. In the conversation I mentioned the stupidity of Sports Illustrated... and my sister reminded me that I am expecting to find gold in the mud and garbage... 

She said Sports Illustrated panders to the lowest common denominator of male sexism... 
What this cover has to do with sports... beats me...! It is more like Sports Illustrated acting as a pimp to prostitute young people... 
It is indeed a GREEDY and also dirty business....

In the photo, Davis eager pulls down her bikini bottom and thrusts forward her pelvis in a way that's clearly meant to draw the eye to that very spot between her legs -- far more so than her eyes, or even her breasts. It's an invitation to picture her naked, and more. And in case there was any ambiguity of what the image is supposed to evoke, there's the clever cover line that begins: "Hannah Davis Goes Down South. ... " It is explicitly explicit, and as such impossible not to view it as intending to reduce women to billboards and sex objects. Claiming to portray Davis this way in the name of "celebrating the female form" is a lie balder than her nether region.

After all, if the point isn't to objectify women for the pleasure of the male gaze, why has no one created a counterpart magazine featuring a scantily dressed man? Why are men so rarely offered up as objects to behold? Men aren't the only ones who like to "appreciate the beauty" of the opposite sex.

If the point isn't to objectify women, and subvert them in some way, then why isn't there a similar model for men? Instead, most examples of men gracing magazine covers with their bodies on display are for men's magazines, with a male readership. Why is it normal to "celebrate the female form" but not the male one?

A friend from Europe is sick.
She had breast cancer before... she fought and after surgery she was healthy for nine years... now cancer has reappeared this time in her bones... 
When I heard the news... I was sad and depressed too... I wanted to enter this post, but I could not bring myself to write... and now I will share the sad news with you...

friend, I am happy to hear you are all doing well. As for me, for now I cannot complain much! The rest is in God's hands. It is not a pleasant experience for me, and especially for my father, my kids, my brother and all who I love a lot. I am going full time for now to school; obviously once I am home there is not energy left for much! For the future I will take decisions accordingly. I love to be with the students, as being there with them feels like cheating on the pain, stress, fatigue and every other fear that sometimes overwhelms me. So, I thank God for everything I have today and pray for at least the same tomorrow. Please say hi to your family and all. I hope to see you anytime soon if you happened to come to our city. I know that the kids in the school energize the good teachers... I know it from experience...  in fact, the only thing I miss from my teaching days is the energy of the youth and their inquiring minds...
I thought about my friend for the past few days... and I realized that I am blessed to have my health... and you are blessed too...
A wise person said yesterday that our main job, after we wake up in the morning, is to go safely to bed to bed again... I am sure you will agree with me when I add "safely and healthy..." 
I wrote to her that "good thing do happen to good people," and good things will happen to her too... and also good things will happen to you too...

Check these people... a "911 operator" and a "Superior Court Judge"...

1) A Maryland 911 operator has been disciplined after telling a traumatized teen to "stop whining."

2)  A Superior Court Judge tells the victim's mother: It is "very, very important" that you control your emotions on the witness stand once the jury returns to the courtroom. The victim's mom were shown photos of her dead son's body and the judge had to rule on what photos could be shown to the victim's mother in the presence of the jury.

"You are not to cry," the judge said.

"Yes, your honor," Ward replied during her brief appearance as a prosecution witness in the murder trial of former New England patriots star Aaron Hernandez... 

When people have discretionary power like the judge or the 911 operator... at times they will abuse it...

Who the Judge thinks she is... to ask the mother not to demonstrated visible emotions when they show her sons dead body... bloodied, with bullet holes... Asking the victim to stay clam and restrain emotions is indeed victimizing the victim again...

The judge should be more circumspect and humane too... and the 911 operator should be happy that he has a job where he can help people everyday...

Power is a very dangerous weapon specially in the hands if the full-of-themselves-ass-holes... minor bureaucrats are dangerous people... and at that particular moment they have full power over an individual...

The reporters are more and more going around like celebrities and like Hollywood actors... 

One of America's most famous news anchors has apologised after a story he repeatedly told about coming under fire in Iraq was revealed to be untrue.

NBC's Brian Williams said he was on a helicopter forced down in 2003, but veterans have now disputed his account. Mr Williams, the most-watched network anchor in the US, has often recounted his experience but now blames the "fog of memory".

He said: "I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago and I want to apologise. I said I was travelling in an aircraft that was hit by RPG [rocket-propelled grenade] fire. I was instead in a following aircraft."

Indeed these reporter-actors are highly paid apologist for the Big Brothers... and they repeat what the Big brother wants them to say... and then act with impunity... They are part of the 1%... and they behave like the 1%... defending the system and opposing change... most of the time...

"What's hard to grasp is that nothing is the same. ... You, your spouse, kids, house, bills, schools, job, interaction skills, emotions are all tainted and jumbled up in what's left of your brain," the sniper said.

Indeed, when you are bred to kill... and that is what war is... It metamorphoses  good people into killers... wonderful human beings into I-only-wished-I-had-killed-more guys...

The "Snipers" in Iraq... The Iraqi war and NATO-West invasion of Iraq... created a huge vacuum... and the Islamist-Jihadist took advantage and flourished in the created void...  

The NATO-West invasion of Iraq created the Jihadists... and now we have to fight them and their barbarism and brutality... Burning a hostage alive... the the apex of inhumanity...

The Iraqi war created the biggest irony...                                         By killing Saddam Hussein we created the Islamist-Jihadists... and so, we are responsible for sliding the Middle East into the barbaric hell...

I hope that all is well with you.  Hopefully you're encountering better weather there than we are here as we got 20 cm of snow since last night and -25 degrees windchill which resulted in horrible conditions everywhere and some cancelled classes for me and closed schools almost everywhere else.  Anyways, I came across something that I thought you might like and so  I am forwarding the link to you. Their inhuman behaviour demonstrates again that they have a long, very long way to cover... from the Middle Ages to the 21st century... and that distance in time they have to travel fast or they will be destined to the garbage dump of history... and humanity will not tolerate them...

A three-year-old American boy has shot his mother and father with the same bullet after pulling a gun from her handbag, police say. The incident took place in a motel room on Saturday afternoon in Albuquerque in the state of New Mexico. The toddler was apparently reaching for an iPod. In December a woman in the state of Idaho was killed after her two-year-old son accidentally shot her with a gun he found when reaching into her handbag in a Wal-Mart store.

A friend writes...

"I'm at school but the board office and all school facilities have been cancelled due to heavy snow and storm , it's Canada OH Canada. Only Rino and myself are on site, and will be leaving in few minutes."

When I was teaching, I loved the snow days... 

I woke up early and drove to the school beating the absurdity of the traffic... I arrived at school very early everyday... and on snow days... the school was spooky and funny... suddenly someone will show up bundled and attempting to keep warm... I went to my classroom made some cinnamon tea and played masterpieces of church music... Rachmaninoff's Vespers or Mozart's Requiem or Gregorian Chants... 

The teachers thought I was weird... the students thought I am crazy and they did not miss the chance to show me a poster of Ernestine and emphasized that I look like him...that is "crazy" like him... and  admin stayed away from me... They knew that I will retaliate and not give in to their superficial and non-academic demands... They did not want a controversy on their hands...

I was happy with the younger people and together we learned how to reason (math) and how to be a good person ( social discussions that I interjected in my math classes)...

I guess they were happy...and satisfied too...

... Today I hear it's a snow day... and memories flooded in...

Now I am retired... and in warmer climate...

I do not miss the school... the four walls were arresting my thoughts and not allowing the students to soar higher the way they chose to...

I do not miss the teachers... most were there to "teach" because they wanted the money... and they could not do something else...which pays good...

I am happy that I got rid of the admin... Admins are bureaucratic Big Brothers and they are there to preserve law and order... and make the kids to conform to the norms of society...

But I miss the youthful energy and inquiring minds of the kids... and  I will always miss that...

I will miss the snow too...

One of its first guests was a prominent Bahraini opposition figure, drawing criticism from pro-government media.

Alarab said it had stopped for "technical and administrative reasons".
