Stop the deception... Protests Continue...

Protests  Continue...

There is a genuine disconnect between the system and the people... between Big Brother and the disenfranchised middle class... between the 1% and the 99%...

This disconnect is dangerous... that's where unrest starts... where it leads... no one knows... 

The protests against British rule and tax levies started the same way... slowly... peacefully... and then the Tea party... and then the revolutionary uprising... and the creation of new hope... and the 13 states united... and created a new constitution... everyone is entitled for liberty and pursuit of happiness... everyone is equal under the law... no exceptions... But things devastated... and now we are hanging to straws...

Indeed the protests continue and they have spread...

"I cannot breathe..." and

"Hands up... don't shoot..."  

Is anyone listening...? Will anyone heed...?

I am claustrophobic... and I am very much scared of confined places... I do not want to fly... and I do not want to be in room without windows... I am afraid of the confined isolation... I want to be free and I want to be in open space...
If the person cannot breath... you stop... check things out... an ease the chock hold... 

Indeed when police brutality is not checked ... it will lead to tyranny... and anarchy...

It is not late ...We still have the chance to make amends... to repair... the social fabric... 

The dictatorship of the 1%... the diktats of the Big Brother are intolerable... we want to breathe freely... in liberty...

Obama Lights National Christmas Tree

Lighting the tree is not enough... You have to mean it... Lighting the tree and instigating unrest in Ukraine is very deceptive... Lighting the Christmas Hope and continuing the "Arab Spring" is very hypocritical... Lighting the tree and deceiving millions is very deceitful...
and
At Christmas no one needs deceit... no one wants hypocrisy... 

I hope the lighting of the Christmas tree will usher in good will and peace...
The police have to realize that the people do not work for them... in fact, the police work for the people...
The Big Brothers should realize that they cannot control the people forever... the 99% will eventually realize that they have rights to live in liberty and pursue happiness...

Hands up, Don't Shoot... I Cannot Breath...

TO SERVE AND PROTECT...

Today, in my daily walk around the neighborhood, a police cruiser past by me and about 100 feet in front of me... he pulled the car to the side... and I notice he came out of the car... in the middle of the road and began patting a dog... I caught up with him and he took the dog into the cruiser and asked me the name of the road... I responded, "Laurel leaf"... and added... "I guess you found a dog...eh" 

He indeed did... the dog had strayed... he called his headquarter for instruction... and I walked away... 

I was happy that the policeman was caring and protecting the dog... I hope they will be able to find the owner too...

To serve and protect makes sense... if the police are serving and protecting all...

On the weekend... a football team came to the field and some of the black players had their hands up... in solidarity with Ferguson demonstrators...

It created controversy... 

The players with their hands up... "Hands up... don't shoot..."

Two responses...

Black police officers agreed... see below...

"We think that their actions were commendable and that they should not be ridiculed, disciplined or punished for taking a stand on this very important issue which is of great concern around the world and especially in the community where these players work," the Ethical Society of Police of St. Louis said in a statement this week.

The white police officers did not agree... see below...

Earlier this week the St. Louis Police Officers Association said it was "tasteless, offensive and inflammatory" when five Rams players who walked into the field Sunday displaying the "hands up, don't shoot" gesture adopted by protesters.

But I think the players have the right to express their feelings freely and if they want they should be FREE to express their solidarity with the community... 
FREE SPEECH IS FOR ALL... white, black, brown, Asian... Caucasian and ALL... and the police cannot dictate how people will respond and how they will express their feelings...
After all, they are to "serve and protect" and not dictate their whims on how to behave... !

After Ferguson  shooting... the chock-hold controversy...

Officers arresting an African American... he was selling illegal cigarettes and local shop owners had protested and called the police... But you'll be the judge... if what the photos convey is excessive force or not...
The black person says... eleven times... "I can't breath... I can't breath..." and dies in the hospital right after the arrest..

Indeed it is enough... Police are called to duty "to serve and protect" ALL... and After Ferguson comes New York and the chock-hold... also a shooting of a 12-year-old for playing with a toy gun... I love police when they "serve and protect"... today on my walk I saw that... The officers patted the strayed dog... took it into his car... and attempted to find the owner... 

Demonstrators doing a dead lying down... in new York... People are fed up with brutality and violence... from the police... from the Big brothers...

When police serve and protect... the community will respect and love them... but when they use excessive force, brutalize the youth and shoot without any reason... communities will be distressed... 
Something has to change... and police have to be kinder and gentler... and serve and protect ALL... not just Big Brothers... not just a sector of the community and property...
I hope they do...

I responded to Ferguson and the shooting of a Black African American by the police often... in previous blogs... A friend... a former student of mine... wrote me and email few days ago... and I am publishing it as it is in its entirety... 
I have made my sentiments and arguments quite clear... So now it is his turn...
I believe in honesty and FREE SPEECH... also I respect my friend and will give him all the space necessary...
I will not be selective... and if anyone else responds... I will publish them too... even if they swear...

Secondly, I was debating emailing you about the whole Ferguson ordeal when it first happened but decided against it to avoid offending anybody at such a delicate time but what is happening now is just ridiculous. What happened was a tragedy, but we never knew the real story until just this week, when they finally started releasing evidence. Michael Brown and his friends were illegally walking in the middle of the street for no good reason and refused to walk on the sidewalk when asked politely by Darren Wilson. It just so happened that Michael Brown was also the suspect of a nearby robbery and so Darren Wilson pursued him. Michael Brown fled than turned back and started running at that police officer and survived a multiple shots before Darren Wilson finally fired the fatal shot that killed him. The use of lethal force is something really stupid for me and I will never understand it, especially when the suspect isn't holding a firearm. A taser would have been a much better option with a resisting suspect but even with his Michael Brown's size, it may not have had much effect. Again, his death is a tragedy and it could have easily been avoiding but the fact is that he was a violent criminal who posed a threat to the police officer. 

Now what really enrages me is that all black people think that this was racially charged and this is just absolutely stupid. Had any white person robbed a convenience store and then attacked a police officer, he would have been shot just the same. To further enrage me, all of the protests claim to be against racism yet the stupid organizers write the following towards white people: 'refrain from taking up space in all ways possible', 'never be at the centre of anything', 'refrain from speaking to the media' and 'stand behind black folks or between us and the police'. How somebody could be so stupid and get away with it baffles me. If a white person said the same thing about black people, that person's family would get harassed and threatened, on top being sued by millions of people claiming to have been racially abused. Rather than the protests being anti-racism, they're all being pro-segregation without any remorse or punishment or for their actions. What's more, people who are supposed to be role models like LeBron James and the notoriously racist Serena Williams are encouraging them. These people need to use their brains and realize that they're only harming their cause with such immaturity.

This is all similar to the Trayvon Martin case and so I don't get why it gets magnified just because a white cop shot a black teenager. The opposite happens too yet nobody has ever heard a single word about it. How about the 5000 white people killed in South Africa every year by blacks? How about the thousands of lawsuits involving so called racism towards blacks by white people? Why is that most blacks are now offended by the use of the term of black instead of African American? Why doesn't somebody find the statistics behind racism lawsuits between whites and blacks and see just how ridiculous the difference is? I have never once heard of a white person alleging racism against a black person, let alone winning a case. 

In a time of world unrest when we should be joining together, these people are further dividing the world and playing into the racist stereotypes that they are "fighting" against. 

I hope that you don't find what I wrote offensive but I felt that I had to get it off my chest to somebody objective and open minded.

It may be scary sometimes… the offenders maybe violent at times… but that risk comes with the job…

When I was teaching, I was not allowed to hit a student despite all the verbal abuse dumped on me… I have told student at various times… that if they do not mature fast enough and if they repeat their depressingly funny behaviour outside… on the street, they may be beaten up by intolerant people… the school protects them, but not the street… and if they behave in a funny way… people will respond in kind…

If teachers are ask to tolerate the abuse and find alternative ways to deal with student outburst and abuse… why not the police too…!

Hawking...Artificial Intelligence...Nachman... It's the fourth day of Advent...

Hawking makes us think...

But I think the development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race; warns Hawking.

It is ironic and "funny" that our creation will surpass us...and eventually take over and the humane race will be at the mercy of AI-creatures...robots...

It is indeed futuristic and may be far fetched... But technology is progressing so fast that biology and medicine are left behind in the race... and may be Hawking is correct to predict the end of the humane race at this pace...

What Big Brother could not achieve our brain-child will succeed...

What Islamic-Jihadists cannot achieve with their bombs and weapons...our brain creation will do the job...

Where the West and the East could not bring peace... our brain creation will bring the end...

"Funny" and ironic... It is even amusing...

What will happen to all the millions and billions in the "overseas banks"...?

What will happen to all the accumulated wealth of Big Brothers stired in Swiss banks...?

Will the AT-creature create a system of their own and have GREED of their own...? Will they share or will they compete with each other... until  such time that another generation of AT-creatures bring their end too...?

Stephan Hawking had an upgrade...

Technology succeeded where medicine failed...

Hawking has been in partnership with Intel for over 25 years.

This is the first upgrade to his communications system for nearly 20 years. “I hope it will serve me well for the next 20 years,” he said.

The famous astrophysicist said he believed technology would eventually become self-aware and supersede humanity, as it developed faster than biological evolution.

“The primitive forms of artificial intelligence we already have proved very useful. But I think the development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race.”

Hawking – who as a result of his motor neurone disease is almost totally paralysed – also spoke of how he had received a “life-changing upgrade” to the computer software that allows him to communicate.

Hawking now uses a system that incorporates predictive text, allowing him to type twice as quickly as before and send emails ten times faster.

“I was finding it very difficult to continue to communicate effectively and so do the things I love to do,” he told a press conference in London for the launch of the new Intel software platform.

“With the improvements made, I am now able to write much faster and that means I can continue to give lectures, write papers and books, and, of course, speak with my family and friends more easily.

“Medicine has not been able to cure me, so I rely on technology to help me communicate and live,” he said.

Hawking has chosen to retain his familiar, slightly robotic sounding voice despite being offered something more natural.

“We are pushing the boundaries of what is possible through technology – without it I would not be able to speak to you today,” he said. “Intel’s research and development is bringing about changes in the world and in the way that disabled people can communicate.”

To use the Intel software, an infrared sensor attached to his glasses allows Hawking to control the software by moving the muscle in his cheek. As he selects letters, predictive text offers him options for completing the word, which speeds up the process.

Using these predictions, he now needs to key only about 15-20 percent of the characters in any document. It has doubled his writing speed, which had gradually fallen to less than a word a minute after he lost the use of his hands and had to give up using a hand switch.

The software will be released to developers and researchers in January 2015, and will be made freely available to anyone who wishes to download it.

I have no clue why… What was the Pope expecting from Turkey…?

There were three major issues that the Pope wanted to raise…

1. Respect for Christian and other minorities in Turkey and the Middle East… and freedom of worship…

The Turkish President did not promise anything… only urged the Pope to work in Europe for tolerance for Islamic fundamentalism – the corner stone if Islamic-Jihadist recruitment… That is Turkey wanted the Pope to support Islamic atrocities and terror…

"I sincerely believe that you cannot say that all Muslims are terrorists just as you cannot say that all Christians are fundamentalists; every religion has these little groups," the pope said.

Just a question…

Muslim terrorists… and Christian fundamentalists… Since when these two are equal…to each other… I have never come across to a Bible thumbing fundamentalist who advocates massacring minorities…!

Why the Pope equated these two groups…? Ignorance…? I don’t think so… It is just kowtowing to the Turkish president in his vision of a new Islamic Empire… and ingratiating the Turkish arrogance... Obscuring the Turkish Human Rights record and imprisoned journalists…

What the Pope received in return… absolutely NOTHING…  

Also… the Islamic-Jihadists are not a SMALL group… and they control vast areas of Iraq and Syria… and there are no Christian fundamentalist groups who control countries and have political power…!

Why equate these two…?

God works in mysterious ways… and the Pope is attempting to emulate His mysterious ways…

The Pope wanted Turkey to respect the historical fact of the Armenian Genocide… The Turkish president did not yield an inch… and afterwards the Pope praised the Turkish President for his statement few months ago apologizing to Armenians about WW I atrocities… The Turkish President did not admit the Armenian Genocide and the Pope praised him for concealing the historical facts…

Then there was the Armenian question, and in particular the question of the Armenian Genocide, the hundredth anniversary of which falls next year. Again, this was seemingly raised by the Pope, but from what he says in the plane, one gets the distinct impression that Mr Erdogan did not give an inch, and neither is the Pope prepared to push him further. This is a huge pity. It will come as a major disappointment to all Armenians and all Catholic Armenians in particular. It will disappoint all those who feel, such as myself, that there can be no justice without truth and that the Armenians are victims of a continuing historical injustice. It will disappoint many Turks, those disenchanted with Mr Erdogan, too.

Indeed what a waste of time and opportunity… to do the Christian thing and push the Turkish President for the truth…

3. The Pope wanted to advance Church unity… Catholic and Orthodox reconciliation… Then he made an strange announcement…that the conservatives both churches are unwilling for rapprochement… This is very curious and strange… So far I have not encountered any Catholic leader-bishop or Orthodox priest-bishop who is opposed to church unity… it is difficult…Of course… but not one is against the ecumenical rapprochement of the churches…

And after the Pope, Putin travels to Turkey for another suck up…  There must be something…I do not know what…in Turkey… that Kerry visited… the Pope visited… Putin will visit…

I guess the Big brothers are afraid that the Islamic-Jihadists will issue and order and behead these leaders…

What’s in a Word...?

Words have lethal power... they create controversies... they even create wars...

Words have a life of their own... they breath and evolve... We have to be careful how we use them... in our passion... in our rush... 

Words reflect the left over from our hearts... use them at your own peril...

Some examples...

1) Persian Gulf...is the historic when there was a Persian Empire... Now the Arabs want it to be called Arabian Gulf...                                                             

The name will not change the reality...but the name will create a conflict of its own...

2) Some called it Northern Ireland...which has three more counties –mostly Catholic, and some called it Ulster – it has three less counties... and protestant majority...                                                                                               

Names create controversy... and antagonism...

3) The Republic of Nogorno karabagh... is an independent country...as far as the local Armenians are concerned... But the Turks and Azeris  will call it Province of Nogorno Karabagh... a province of Azerbejan...                                         

The name signifies the political status of the region...

4) People’s Democratic Republic of... Korea... or Congo... will be a propaganda piece... These countries are neither democratic or belong to the people...

5) The Great War...the War to End All wars... did not measure up to its “greatness”... WW II surpassed it in atrocities and scope and violence... So now it is World War I and World War II...

6) A much maligned term... terrorist... for one side the fighters are terrorist... for the other side they are “freedom fighters”... and we hear the side that will appeal to us and appease our senses... No logic... Just Big Brother propaganda...

And within WWI ... other controversies... A British reporter explains...

Other Great War events remain contentious, not least what I always refer to as the Armenian Holocaust (with a capital "H"), the genocide of 1.5m Armenian Christians at the hands of the Turkish Ottoman government in 1915. It was the first industrialised genocide of the last century - the second being the Jewish Holocaust - and the two mass acts of slaughter had clear historical connections. The Turks suffocated thousands of Armenians in caves - by blowing smoke from bonfires into the cavities where they had imprisoned them in the Syrian Desert - and thus created the first primitive gas chambers.

Armenian men were sometimes taken to their execution in railway goods wagons. And junior members of the German Kaiser's army who were training the Turkish army at the time witnessed the genocide; more importantly, some of the names of these Germans turned up less than a quarter of a century later as members of Hitler's Wehrmacht in the Ukraine and Belarus, where they were helping to organise the mass killing of Jews. There's no doubt where they learned how to do that.

Turkey deported two thirds of the Armenian population; many were either killed or died of starvation during the journey many years ago, therefore, I used the phrase "Armenian Holocaust" in The Independent. A sub-editor immediately changed the capital H to a lower-case h. My phone did not stop ringing. Armenians were outraged. Why did they not deserve a capital H, they demanded to know? Didn't the Turks murder enough Armenians to qualify them for a capital H? I wrote a long memorandum to my then editor, Simon Kelner, explaining that it was racist to make a distinction between two genocides; we could not base our definition on the numerical difference between 1,500,000 and 6,000,000. Besides, Israelis (as opposed to the state of Israel, which doesn't even regard the Armenian catastrophe as a genocide) refer to the Armenian massacres as the Armenian Shoah - using the Hebrew word for Holocaust. Kelner later published my memo as an article in The Independent - and it won the DC Watt journalism award. If the these are not enough... the Big brothers create new controversies... and new definitions... like they are doing in Ukraine... in the Middle East... Big Brothers like Tony Blair and the rest, need controversy to cover their GREED... they create controversy to demonstrate that the other side is even worse... so they plead; “stick with us...”

But it is up to us... the “little” people... to get inspired from the example of the Hong Kong youth and make a stand... and get involved... I am sure it will make all the difference...

Get acquainted with Spider Monkeys...

A new study observes male spider monkeys killing male babies in order to prevent further sexual competition

They are cure...they even look smart... But they are scared of competition... So they kill the newly born males...in order to avoid competition...
I guess... when Big brothers wage war... They are imitating the spider monkeys... I guess it is the Big Brother's way of understanding "Back to nature"... movement...

What do Big Brothers and spider monkeys have in common...?
Both kill their young males... Big Brother does not have the courage... they send the youth to war... others do their dirty job of killing... at least the monkeys do the killing themselves...
