The history of religion... is the history of wars, torture, colonization, invasion of foreign lands, misogyny and power hungry patriarchy...

The opulence of the churches,the magnificent palaces of the clergy... contrasts sharply to the humble origins of the founders... Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, the prophets of the Pentateuch... and all the rest...

They say, 

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely... and indeed the history of the Church, the Mosque, the Temple, or the Synagogue... demonstrate amply the power hungry corruption of the religious elite... They have been and they are an integral part of the system of the 1%... which has ruled the globe ever since... 

The interfaith wars in Europe between Protestants and Catholics was indeed the struggle among temporal rulers... kings and dukes and "the princes of the Church..." 

The Islamic hordes invaded the Arabian Peninsula (Saudi Arabia) and Northern Africa and spread their Islamic faith through the might of their sword... The Asian nomads ( Genghis Khan and Suleiman the Magnificent...) invaded the Middle East and Asia Minor, they massacred the indigenous people, very much like the European White people invaded North America and massacred the indigenous people of North America... The Islamic conquerors established themselves and even committed genocide of the Armenians in the early 20th century... The Muslims have always established themselves by the might of their sword and established their rule and spread their Muslim faith by their sword...

The Islamic armies invaded Europe (Greece, Romania, Hungry and reached the gates of Vienna...) and spread their faith and culture through the sword...

The Catholic Church burned women on stakes as witches... and abused the natives of North America...

The Report published by a U.S. Grand Jury this week is nothing new... It just exposes, yet another time, the barbaric ugliness and abusive power of a religious order...

A report published yesterday has documented the sexual crimes that were perpetrated by over 300 priests in Pennsylvania over 70 years. More than 1,000 children, and probably several times that number, were victims of clerical abuse that was systematically swept under the carpet. 

It states ... :

"Priests were raping little boys and girls, and the men of God who were responsible for them not only did nothing; they hid it all," the 1,300-page report found...

And the response of the Vatican...

"Regarding the report made public in Pennsylvania this week, there are two words that can express the feelings faced with these horrible crimes: shame and sorrow," said Greg Burke, director of the Vatican's Press Office. "The Holy See treats with great seriousness the work of the Investigating Grand Jury of Pennsylvania and the lengthy Interim Report it has produced. The Holy See condemns unequivocally the sexual abuse of minors." It is not only the sexual abuse of minors... minorities are abused... women are excluded... opulence is the order of the day on ALL religious hierarchies... and sects and orders... Catholics, Evangelicals... who have sold their soul to money and bribes and to Trumpism, and the Jewish faith... who just supported the most racist declaration coming from a state that Israel is for the Jewish people ONLY... and Palestinians are excluded from it... The Buddhists who deported the Rohingyas from Myanmar-Burma... The Muslims who have Jihadist ISIS and Taliban and the rest of the terrorists groups... No religion is better than the other... and Karl Marx's statement a century ago... Religion is the opium of the people... sounds so true...

The pope hugs ex-Archbishop Theodore McCarrick during a visit to Washington DC in 2015... The Pope new then and did nothing... He just acted after all the shit burst out in his face... and the stink enveloped all of Vatican... And the bishops, how many of then indeed are abusers themselves?, called for a papal representative to investigate allegations of sexual abuse against former Washington DC Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, 88, who resigned last month... The Church, and all religious orders and ALL religions,  must adopt what Jesus advised to the rich prince... With God All Things Are Possible 24 And when Jesus saw that he became very sorrowful, He said, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” I am not a riligous person... but I see a contradiction when there is one... and when I was studying English Lit in university The King James Bible was a required reading... So I remember the above passage... Religous orders... Trumpists... the 1% ... lay people, laity and clergy... all rulers of the world must "sell all they have and distribute to the poor..." I had a friend at the university... he left his house doors open... he had just the minimum... a bad, a sofa and few cloths and kitchen utensils... When I asked why he does not lock his doors... He replied... There is nothing to steal... and he was happier for that... and did not care about insurance or all the other worries that people have...

... Of dicks, moral responsibility and Compassion...

I was in downtown LA... and needed to use a restroom... but there were not public place that I could have turned... and the cafes and restaurants had signs "restrooms for customers only..." and they were locked...
So maybe Paris, the City of Lights... has a point... but... that point has a built in gender bias...

Eco-friendly open-air urinals cause uto use proar in Paris...

An attempt by officials in Paris to tackle public urination by installing open-air urinals, or "uritrottoirs," has outraged some residents of the French capital.

The new urinals, housed in flower boxes, aren't subtle -- they're fully exposed on street corners, painted bright red, and have nearby signs advertising their presence.

Men holding his dick and exposing himself... But what about the women... How will they use the new urinals...? 
Or maybe... the women do not offend by urinating in the public... So they do not need the urinals...
Men offend and they are rewarded... That's what patriarchy is all about... cater to the dicks of the offenders... and ignore the women and their existence...

The urinals claim to be eco-friendly, as they turn waste into compost for parks and gardens ... but they discriminate against women...

Ariel Weil, mayor of the 4th district of Paris, tweeted in defense of the urinals on Monday, calling them "an invention of genius." Four have been installed so far, with a fifth being planned.

Paris isn't the first European city to install outdoor urinals. Amsterdam has had them for years, and cities in Belgium and Australia have also trialed them.

"Comfort Women..." REALLY?

People in South Korea and Taiwan unveiled monuments and staged protests on Tuesday to mark Japan's wartime use of "comfort women", a euphemism for girls and women forced to work in Japan's wartime brothels.

In South Korea, a new monument was unveiled as part of its first "Memorial Day for Japanese Forces' Comfort Women Victims," which threatens to exacerbate a sensitive diplomatic issue with Japan, South Korea's neighbour and a key ally of the United States in efforts to contain North Korea.

 A statue of a teenage girl — the original monument to former "comfort women" who served as sex slaves for Japanese soldiers during World War II — sits in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul.

Question...

Why Japan refuses to acknowledge that they abused the women for the convenience of male dicks... ?
I assume male dicks are more important than human compassion and admitting a wrong... I assume Japan will not admit moral responsibility since it will open the doors for legal liability and financial compensation.... So the better option for regimes and autocrats and oligarchs and plutocrats and rulers in Russia and China and North Korea and Japan and the rest is to deny the wrong doing and refuse to accept  responsibility...

For these rulers, the 1%... money is more important than morality... and the dick of their soldiers is worth more than the pain of 1000s of women...
Japan's behaviour is very similar to other despotic-democracies like Turkey's Erdogan... Turkey denies the genocide of Armenians and refuses to accept responsibility... after the acceptance will follow with financial responsibility and the return of lands which they stole from the Armenians...
Money dictates morality...
Money rules for the 1%... Be it in the US or in Russia or Japan or Turkey...

...And on a compassionate note...

The tires of the trailer failed and the wires rubbing on the asphalt created sparks which eventually led to brush fires...

The Carr Fire ignited on July 23 near Redding after a trailer got a flat tire and its rim scraped the asphalt. The sparks that shot out from that minor incident started what is now the eighth-largest wildfire in state history.

The fire blazed a fiery path along Highway 299, lighting up dry brush and residential areas, and killing at least seven people.

When Redding resident Rachel Pilli read about the tire failure, she decided to reach out to the trailer's owners with a message of compassion. She posted a message on social media asking if anyone else wants to show their support. About 100 letters poured in -- and they're still coming.

A community devastated by a deadly wildfire in Northern California has a message for the couple whose trailer started the blaze: It's not your fault.

 The Carr Fire started on July 23 and has destroyed more than 1,000 homes, Cal Fire says.  (City of Redding, California )

 

Accidents do happen... and despitr the

The trailer owners were surely comforted with the neighbourly compassion...

Those Whites Who Are Not Happy With The Realities Of North America... LET THEM GO BACK TO WHITE EUROPE....

I have heard "Go back to where you came from..." or "Go back to your country..." yelled at people!
Students have tols me about their experience in stores and on the street... back and froth from school...
It is unfortunate... but racists are everywhere... and now in the new era of Trumpism... people are emboldened to call police over blacks and Latinos... People are emboldened to harass immigrants... 
But here is my take...
Why don't the European-white-Americans... return to their roots and live happily every after in the "white Europe" that they dream... 
The descendants of the Puritans... and Huguenots... and those who at the time escaped religious persecution and harassment... because they were Protestants in one European country and Catholic in the other... Calvinists who escaped oppression... and all the many religious sects and minorities who were prosecuted in Europe and desperately escaped oppression and harassment in Europe at the time... in the 1700... before 1776... WHY DON'T THEY RETURN TO EUROPE... WHERE THEY CAME FROM...
The Mayflower descendants... let them go back...
After all Blacks did not come here for fun... they did not even embark on an escape ship, like the Mayflower... they were chained and handcuffed and brought here as slaves... 
The Latinos escaped the chaos and economic repression that successive Juntas created in Latin America... of course the North American governments aided and abetted to the Juntas and the right wing death squads... in Nicaragua and Honduras and El Salvador and Panama and Brazil and Argentina and Chili and Colombia and the rest...
The North American regimes helped in the prosecution of the people... and people escaped repression and economic hardship... and just like Europeans few centuries ago... they escaped and came to North America... U.S. and Canada...
So if "White North America" does not like the demographic changes in North America... They have the option... LET THEM RETURN TO EUROPE... in stead of yelling at immigrants to return where they came from...
Massacring the aboriginals, genocides... and enslaving the African Americans are barbarism of the past... and those "white Europeans" who are unhappy with the demographic changes happening in North America... Those "whites" who cannot live with the reality and want to create fake countries... let them jump on jumbo-jet Mayflower and return to "White Europe..." and leave the rest of us alone... 
They will be happy and we will be happier...

Students discovered that someone had hung bananas around American University on the day a black, female student body president took office.

Indeed, it all began with the realization of the nakedness of humans and the need for cooperation... The naked truth...

  

By eating the apple... humans began creating the AI and the Facebook and all the rest of the tech games... and the Silicon valley...

Human beings were scared of the truth… Human beings were essentially ashamed to handle the truth… they resorted to temporary, make shift solutions... they resorted to fig leaves… to cover their nakedness… and it all developed into the disorder of Patriarchal society… The stronger people subdued the weaker... the ones who had the arms (sticks, stones, slings, catapults, arms, dynamite, bombs, aircraft, and nuclear weapons...) and the ones who were for peace and cooperation... the patriarchy with its animal instincts and humanity with its love for peace and harmony...

The NRA and the 2nd Amendment are both the inventions of patriarchy... in the US the NRA is the fig leaf for the naked truth... of gun violence... 
The truth is GUNS KILL... and more guns kill more...

The organized violent expressions of the US Civil War has long ended... the armies have disbanded... and the slavery is abolished... But the "Cold Civil War" was never halted... and the NRA and the Gun Violence and the Evangelicals ( the evolved patriarchy of the Puritans...)

The Thomson Reuters Foundation released its results recently of a survey of 550 experts on women's issues, finding India to be the most dangerous nation for sexual violence against women, as well as human trafficking for domestic work, forced labor, forced marriage and sexual slavery, among other reasons.

It was also the most dangerous country in the world for cultural traditions that impact women, the survey found, citing acid attacks, female genital mutilation, child marriage and physical abuse. India was the fourth most dangerous country for women in the same survey seven years ago.

Nine of the 10 countries on the list were from Asia, the Middle East or Africa. At number 10 was the United States, the only Western country to be included. The foundation said this was directly related to the #MeToo movement.

  ABOUT THE POLL                        Seven years ago a Thomson Reuters Foundation experts' survey found the five most dangerous countries for women were seen to be Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Pakistan, India, and Somalia. This year we set out to see if the situation had changed. We wanted to find out whether more was being done to address the overall risks faced by women, and specifically regarding healthcare, access to economic resources, customary practices, sexual violence, non-sexual violence and human trafficking. We expanded our poll to the 10 most dangerous countries with some surprising results.

World leaders vowed three years ago to eliminate all forms of violence and discrimination against women and girls by 2030, allowing them to live freely and safely to participate equally in political, economic and public life. But despite this pledge it is estimated that one in three women globally experience physical or sexual violence during their lifetime. Child marriage is still rife, with almost 750 million women and girls married before their 18th birthday, resulting in teen pregnancies that can put their health at risk and limiting schooling and opportunities.

When people look back at the US immigration debate, they might point to May 2018 as a turning point -- a month when policies became reality, when words once whispered in private became words shouted in public, when life for immigrant families crossing the border became visibly worse.

There were major events that made national news. And smaller rumblings that could pave the way for seismic shifts.

A caravan crossing the US-Mexico border sparked a push to overhaul asylum policies and stop future groups from getting in.

The President of the United States called immigrant gang members "animals."

A lawyer vowed to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement after hearing people speak Spanish at a restaurant. And a Border Patrol agent questioned a US citizen after she spoke Spanish in a store.

Authorities separated immigrant children from their parents as part of a new "zero tolerance" plan to prosecute everyone caught illegally crossing the border.

Whether you love or hate the heatwave, for some people the sticky, hot nights can prove difficult for getting a good night's sleep.

Record temperatures have been recorded across Europe, and in Finland, where many apartments have no air conditioning, the community spirit has helped keep some residents cool.

When a supermarket manager in the country's capital, Helsinki, heard her customers joking about spending the night in the coolness of her store it got her thinking.

Marika Lindfors opened the doors on Saturday to 100 lucky K-Supermarket customers in Phjois-Haaga, who were allowed to bring along their sleeping bags and mattresses for the night.

The video of families settling down to a night in the crisps aisle has since been viewed more than 327k times on the supermarket's Facebook page.

Snacks and beer were available to buy until 9pm.

One customer, Riikka Manninen, described the experience as "like coming to camp."

Since the sleepover, a version with subtitles in English which appeared on the K-group retailers Twitter page has also been gaining traction.
