I am happy, like the birds... and calm and relaxed...
Brahms takes me to my youth... and I meet again my friends... and the rebellion in us is erupting... We were young and even the sky was not the limit... After all, life is as good as you make it to be... and we soared and we tried... We tried hard... because can succeed ONLY if you try... and if you do not try, then you become a loser... sucker... an stinky bugger... in the gutter...

At present we are in the midst of "March Madness"... and basketball teams are competing... and generating money and prestige to universities...But most players will "graduate" with a diploma... and not know anything... many would not even attend classes... and thy will graduate... and later becomes JUST BUMS... As the Joey-WHAT A JOKE guy attests...

The sports culture is doing a HUGE disservice to the African American community... and the players... They are making them toil like the gladiators in ancient Roman arenas... and once they have completed their usefulness... they graduate with a paper worth nothing... because they learned NOTHING... Even U.S. presidents participate in this stupid and GREEDY charade of Big Business universities...

The non-athletes learn and  graduate and find good jobs... The athletes learn nothing and graduate and they become just street bums... The African American leadership should take this into consideration too... and give real meaning to "African Lives Matter" slogan...

The 1915 massacre of Armenians by Ottoman troops and later by Kemalist Turkish fascists left up to an estimated 1.5 million people dead (which accounts to nearly 50% of the Armenian population... much larger percentage than the Jewish victims of the Holocaust...)  and forced the exile of millions more, threatening a 3,000-year-old culture rich in architecture, literature, music and dance. 

Seeking to promote awareness of the culture and the tragedy, Chicago-based artist Jackie Kazarian embarked on a painting of enormous scale, called Project 1915, to be displayed for the first time in Chicago’s Mana Contemporary from April 17 to May 29.

It is widely seen as the 20th century’s first genocide.

Project 1915 is a semi-abstract landscape splashed with bold images and text from ancient Armenian maps and church architecture, united by a pattern of needle lace by Kazarian’s Armenian-born grandmother and with colors and symbols from illuminated manuscripts.

Kazarian, who has Armenian roots, drew on Pablo Picasso’s epic painting Guernica, which depicts the horror of a northern Spanish village’s bombing during Spain’s civil war, for her painting.

It is the exact same size as Guernica at 11.5 feet by 26 feet.
