First we TALK and then we act... We MUST act...

Those who DARE to ACT propel the world forward...
****************************************A
It was the Oscars...

                         ...After winning the Oscar...

Common and Legend in their acceptance speech said...

"This bridge was once a landmark of a divided nation, but now is a symbol for change. The spirit of this bridge transcends race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and social status. ... This bridge was built on hope," said Common.
"We wrote this song for a film that was based on events that were 50 years ago, but we say Selma is now, because the struggle for justice is right now," he said, invoking threats to the Voting Rights Act and the level of correctional control of African-American men.

Bridges may divide... Bridges may unite too...
It all depends on the perspective of people...
The world is a divided globe... Divided between Big Brother GREED...
I have always wondered... how many millions is enough for a person to satisfy its greed... How much profit is enough to satiate the GREED...
The social and economic system is broken and there is no remedy in sight...
Maybe you will be the one who will initiate a new dawn...
Where there is life... there is hope... and I will write and I will hope...That we will build a more inclusive society... where the African American will have the same rights as all the rest of society... where the Latinos will have equal pay for the work that they do...
May be the NATION of IMMIGRATES will not exclude the new comers...May be the NATION of IMMIGRANTS will not base its decisions on race... Maybe the African Americans will not be incarcerated just because of their colour...
Maybe the world will not be divided into East and West and North and South... Maybe we will have a Global Village of PEACE and HARMONY...

Patricia Arquette won best supporting actress...

"To every woman who gave birth, to every taxpayer and citizen of this nation, we have fought for everybody else's equal rights, it's our time to have wage equality once and for all, and equal rights for women in the United States of America," she said.

Meryl Streep was so struck she stood up, pointing in solidarity.
Indeed our mothers and sisters deserve EQUAL RIGHTS...
Graham Moore, excited like on his first  date...

Graham Moore, excited like on his first  date, won best
adapted screenplay for "The Imitation Game." He was besides himself with joy. But after a breath, he appreciated the reality and said...

"When I was 16 years old, I tried to kill myself." Because I felt weird, and I felt different, and I felt like I did not belong. And now I'm standing here, and I would like for this moment to be for that kid out there who feels like she's weird or she's different or doesn't fit anywhere. Yes, you do."

Society should be inclusive and should not discriminate because someone looks different... acts different... Talks different...
I was told to "go where you came from..." I was told that "I have an accent..." and the funny thing is that the people who complained about my accent... they had accent too...
I always thought the British have a different accent than the Irish of New York... and the Islamist-Jihadists proved it when the masked guy beheaded American reporters and the whole world was told that the Jihadist guy had a British accent...

People should be allowed to be... whatever they want to be... Let all live and achieve up to their potential...

...And,
Early in the evening, the Oscar for best documentary short went to "Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press 1," a film about the struggles of returning veterans. As part of her acceptance speech, Dana Perry, one of the producers, dedicated her Oscar to her son. He suffered from bipolar disorder and committed suicide in 2005.
"We should talk about suicide out loud," she said.

Indeed we should talk with each other before things get out of hand...We should talk and help and share and live together...
We should not discriminate because of differences... we should celebrate the diversity...
Image a world with only one kind of flower... It will be quite dull... Maybe we should celebrate the different colours and the looks and the fragrances and the scents and celebrate the bouquet of diversity...

Maybe by just listening and helping YOU will be able to syop the next suicide...
Maybe...
Where there is life...indeed there is hope too...
Alejandro González Iñárritu acknowledged
...While accepting the Oscar for Best Picture, Iñárritu was more direct: "The ones that live in this country, who are part of the latest generation of immigrants, I just pray that they can be treated with the same dignity and respect of the ones who came before and built this incredible immigrant nation.

Celebrate the INNIGRANT NATION... and the Irish Americans, and the European Americans should stop thinking that they owe the space and they should be inclusive... Africans are Americans... Mexicans are Americans... Jews are Americans... Arabs are Americans...
Stop the discrimination and live in HARMONY...
Sean Penn has done much for charity and for Haiti... What he said was just a "joke" and I am sure he will open up the borders for all to get GREEN CARDS...
I am sure he will support the Mexican Americans in their fight to be legal citizens of the United Sates of America...

On another note...
"Citizenfour," a documentary about NSA contractor Edward Snowden. After director Laura Poitras gave a speech warning about invasion of privacy, Harris tried to lighten the mood.
Director Laura Poitras, Dirk Wilutzky, Lindsay Mills and journalist Glenn Greenwald accept Best Documentary Feature Award for "Citizenfour" onstage during the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 22, 2015 in Hollywood, California.
"The disclosures that Edward Snowden reveals don't only expose a threat to our privacy but to our democracy itself," said Poitras, accepting the Oscar. "When the most important decisions being made affecting all of us are made in secret, we lose our ability to check the powers that control."
"When Laura Poitras asked me if she could film our encounters, I was extremely reluctant. I’m grateful that I allowed her to persuade me. The result is a brave and brilliant film that deserves the honor and recognition it has received. My hope is that this award will encourage more people to see the film and be inspired by its message that ordinary citizens, working together, can change the world."
Snowden thinking...in exile...
No government should be allowed to spy on the people... No Big Brother should be allowed to stifle democracy for the sake of "security"...
"Balancing" security and individual rights... Of course... But always in favour of individual rights...
... And the Question... Why?

Courageous as it may be... What is Harris trying to show off...?
The Birdman... ? The Bird...? The Man... ?
Neil Patrick Harris
Harris is indeed courageous... in his endeavour... But then he is an actor and actors act...
Maybe he was counterbalancing the female exhibitionism with its male counterpart...
If society wants the females to expose... Then male exposition should not be at odds with their values...
It is about time to be an equal opportunity for genders to exibit their body parts...
If females should do it... males can do it too...
and
They can do it equally well...
***
And now that the show is over... Maybe the actors will make good on their speeches and maybe they will act...
They say talk is cheap... but these people have the money for action too...
Maybe they will initiate actions and lobby for change and promote more democratic rights for "We the people..."
Maybe...
Where they is life... there is hope to... and I will hope for a better tomorrow for you and for me...
