Challenging the FEAR and IGNORANCE and ARROGANCE of Big Brother

The Shameful Politics of the Big Brothers...

The conservatives…voice support for a travel ban to blockade passengers from Ebola-infected African countries to enter the U.S., a strategy medical experts have said would be counterproductive.
Also advocate strict quarantine…on ALL returning from West Africa…including health workers…REGARDLESS WHETHER THEY HAVE ANY SYMPTONES OR NOT…They advocate 21 day mandatory quarantine…
They criticize President Obama's "Ebola czar" appointment, insisting that the person in that position should be a medical doctor.

On the other side...
Conservative tactics are just fear-mongering, and insist
We really need to rely on experts.

Why Ebola and diseases and illness and health care has to be subject to Big Brother politics and double talk… is indeed beyond me…
I do not condone and I do not grasp the politics that Big Brother powerful grouping s, including the media barons…called pundits, play with people’s right for proper and humane health care…
Which one of the Big Brothers will want to wait in cue in a hospital corridor for hours, sometimes days…to be administered proper medical care…? If they do not want that type of treatment for themselves…why they advocate it for others…?
Indeed, I am not choosing sides… But I just want health and medical care to be available to ALL…
The Big Brothers should be more concerned in preventive norms when it comes to health care…and ban the manufacture of cigarettes…and ban unhealthy “Fast Food” from our diet in general and from school cafs in particular…
Everything and anything should not be subject to politics…just for a buck or two…this is shameful…
In the elections…NO MATTER which Big Brother wins… NOTHING will change… The change will be at the top… The questions that they raise boil down to the Pharmaceutical companies or Oil Barons… Insurance companies or Car Manufacturing… the Big Brother Billionaires will pay more taxes or will be allowed for safe havens in Swiss banks and Caribbean Islands… WILL GET MORE BREAKS…
The two sides, in fact ALL the sides… are the same… They support a system which caters to the 1% billionaires and millionaires… regardless of the fact that…these people the 1% DOES NOT NEED ANY HELP… They have money and hence power and means to look after themselves… the other 99% need the help…NOT HANDOUTS and ALMS… that may be donated to the organized religion…

The political groupings and ALL the sides…should not play politics with Ebola…

A gharial's grin
The gharial, also known as the gavial, and the fish-eating crocodile, is a crocodilian of the family Gavialidae, native to the Indian Subcontinent and it is grinning on the stupidity of Big Brother politics... and all of us who are enchanted by the power play and following their game..
Today they are voting in the East of Ukraine... What will be the difference between Kiev or Moscow...?
The answer is...Absolutely nothing... The two sides are struggling for more money and more power...ONLY...
And Ukrainians will die... FOR the GREED OF THE BIG BROTHERS...
In two days...they will vote in the U.S. mid-term elections... What will be the difference between Democrats or Republicans...
The answer is ...Absolutely nothing...The two sides are struggling for more power and more money for their side of the 1%... ONLY...
And still people will be killed in Ukraine and the Middle East and still Africans will die in their thousands from Ebola... and Still the TWO SIDES if the 1% will debate what to do about EBOLA...!
And the crocodile will still chase the turtle...and will catch and devouter it...
The 1% will still have the gharial's grin and still will insist that they had the last laugh...
May be even in private...they will shake hands and have an LOL party... and of course the media will NOT report what their allies are up to...

It is a social system...that needs to be recreated...
Western Democracy... needs new vision and new blood...
Eastern Oligarchy... needs to overcome it's GREEDY violence...
Organized religion... needs to unlock its doors for the homeless...
And you and I need to be involved and make a difference...

Let us go beyond the shameful politics...
Ebola by numbers...

5,060 mobile phones needed
The medical teams now being sent to the affected countries need mobile phones to pass on vital information about how the disease is spreading, especially in remote areas.
1 in 50 Liberian health workers infected
Ebola is transmitted through patients' body fluids, leaving health workers particularly vulnerable to the disease. Where medics have lacked adequate protection, their rate of infection has been higher.
$61.48 cost of a full protective suit
The suit must be worn by medical personnel to protect against infection. It includes a protective mask, goggles, apron, gloves and rubber boots.
90 days without sex for survivors of Ebola
The Ebola virus can remain present in semen for a long time. Experts say it is best for men who are recovering from the disease to avoid sex altogether - or make sure they use a condom - for 90 days.
1.7 people infected by each Ebola sufferer in Liberia
The figure of 1.7 means that, on average, every 10 people infected with Ebola in Liberia will have passed the disease on to 17 others. This figure is known as a basic reproduction number. It is used to measure the rate at which an epidemic spreads through a susceptible population. The number fluctuates as scientists keep monitoring new cases.
19,980 burial kits needed
The bodies of Ebola victims remain infectious after death. Safe burials are key to checking the spread of the disease.

And...
Ebola cases are continuing to rise "frighteningly quickly" in areas of Sierra Leone, an international campaign group has said.
Ebola in Sierra Leone 'spreading quickly' ...But the Big Brothers in World Capitals are debating...how to BAN the virus from their cities...
In Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone,
Ebola cases are six times higher than two months ago...
But the Big Brothers are debating...How to make the virus disappear from their cities...
Graphic showing cumulative death toll
Ebola is taking its toll ...while Big Brothers are debating options... and dwelling on not rational fear... As the judge on Friday wrote...while discussing the policy of quarantine of health workers...
And a health Worker Defies the Big Brother Fear-Mongering and Ignorance...   No Big Brother has the right to steal or restrain our liberties...because of fear and ignorance... The "elected" people cannot restrict our liberties and freedom of speech and MOVEMENT... McCarthy did it in the U.S. and Stalin did that in Soviet Union - Russia... and BOTH FAILED and are relegated to the "dust bin of history"...
The Nurse...

"I know that Ebola is a scary disease," she said. "I have seen it face-to-face. I know we are nowhere near winning this battle. We'll only win this battle as we continue this discussion, as we gain a better collective understanding about Ebola and public health, as we overcome the fear and, most importantly, as we end the outbreak that is still ongoing in West Africa today."

"They are why I'm here," she said, acknowledging that she will work in Africa again. "I hope that one day I can meet some of them at the airport and give them a big hug and let them know that we're in this together ... This is important day for public health."

But of course there are fears...and of course the public is concerened and of course they need to be educated and overcome those irrational fears... We did it while AIDS was in the spotlight... We did it while SARS was running amok...
And we can do it now...

When AIDS was at its peak in news and public debate and discussion… A friend whom I had not seen ever since I left my Old County… was going to visit me… but before his visit a mutual friend confided that he had AIDS… and begged from me to act “normal and friendly”…
When we met… I shook his hand…but then he was my friend whom I had not seen for a long, long time… I hugged him too…
And I am still alive and well… 17 years after the hand shake and the hug…

The Lawyer...

"She won," he said. "She is not quarantined. She can go out in the public. ... (The judge) got the understanding of what liberty is about and how the government can't restrict your liberty unless there is compelling justification."

The Judge...

LaVerdiere, the judge,  praised Hickox for lending her skills "generously, kindly and with compassion" to "aid, comfort and care" for Ebola patients.
"We owe her and all professionals who give of themselves in this way a debt of gratitude," he wrote.

While many people were acting out of fear that is not entirely rational when it comes to the deadly Ebola outbreak, the judge said that fear was present and real.

The actions of Hickox, as a health professional, "need to demonstrate her full understanding of human nature and the real fear that exist," LaVerdiere wrote. "She should guide herself accordingly."

And her actions are...
educational and daringly inspiring...
The two went out on a bike ride Thursday, trailed by a police cruiser and journalists.
"If anyone in the community might have noticed, we went bicycling that way. We did not go into town," Wilbur told the affiliate.
He said they are not trying to cause trouble and want the community to feel at ease.
"We did not go into the grocery store. We are not trying to get anyone sick," he said. "We don't believe that we can get anyone sick. We're not trying to push any limits here. We're members of this community too, and we want to make everyone feel comfortable."

Health workers in Liberia...
"We owe her and all professionals who give of themselves in this way a debt of gratitude," the judge wrote.

Health workers carrying an Ebola victim...
They are BRAVE...and DARING...
and INSPIRING...

Be Inspired...
Get Involved...and
MAKE A DIFFERENCE...
