PEACE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN WAR...

Yesterday I attended a a friend's 65th birthday party... But the guy is 67-years-old...! I and my wife were amused about the 67-65 confusion... 

Our friend always reminds us of how youthful and handsome he looks... His wife supports him too... he is vain and his wife is supportive... 

Since he feels (is) very youthful... the party was noisy and the music very loud... the drum was beating on my head... But it was okay... They danced and yelled and were very merry... 

In one of our happy hours... Ross and I talked about age and how it effects a person... He also said he feels young and energetic. But he was not shy admitting that he was 68 when he retired... He never argued about age...but he never falsified his age too... He was indeed youthful both in spirit and in mentality... he will be young with the youth and will talk sense when he was with me... I appreciated his outlook...

But my friend yesterday... was not acting youthful... he was not acting mature too... He just wanted to shave few years from his age... I have no clue why...

Indeed it is a wonderful idea... 

Two U.S. citizens ... conservation biologist Joe Roman and his friend, law professor James Kraska have a wonderful proposal...

If the U.S. president succeeds closing the now infamous Guantanamo detention center... they propose to convert it into a marine research center and a peace park... In Science magazine. The center-park will help diplomatic relations and will solve the usurpation of the Guantanamo Bay by the U.S.
 

The detention center at Guantanamo Bay... and its infamous prisoners...

Actually they are not returning it to Cuba... but joint ownership and supervision of the center-park will resolve the dilemma... Both Cubans and Americans will save face... the joint custody and supervision will mean it belongs to both nations... In fact if they place it under United Nations supervision... then it will belong to the world... ALL of us... and will promote PEACE among nations.

Also, the center will serve to protect some of the world's most valuable and significant coral reefs in the Bay... 

  

Study of marine life... Preservation of coral reefs is better that jamming prisoners at the Bay...

Tomorrow as part of their cultural outreach the Obama family will stop by the Havana Cathedral to see the Cardinal who played a crucial role in the thawing of relations   between Cuba and U.S.

The American president is attempting to break barriers and bring the peoples of Cuba and the U.S. together... May be facilitating the research center and PEACE park... will generate more good will and understanding...

The proposal is wonderful... promoting PEACE is always magical and makes me excited...

Ross and I always wanted to promote peace... Peace without borders...

The alternative to peace is always depressing...

Mechanical Soldiers...?

We don't mean to drone on ... but with artificial intelligence and robotic weaponry advancing at breakneck speed, warfare is evolving into a digital landscape of machines and cyberhacking that would baffle the generals of past wars... See the "advantages" of robot soldiers... 1. They will not be upset if a fellow soldier... a comrade is "killed"... 2. They will not bring human baggage to the war... they will not bring compassion or other old fashioned human feelings to the battlefield... Like drones and Artificial Intelligence the robot soldiers are already on us... soon they will be transferred from the lab to the battle front... and will change forever the way humans wage war... both for good guys and bad guys too... And once the wars are waged by means of robots... it will be just like the war games that you play on your laptop... !!!  And once the robots play the game... then governments will be less and less accountable to the people... in whose name they govern...

I am sure the PEACE Park promotion at Guantanamo Bay is much better than the promotion of robot soldiers...

The automation of war is an actual possibility and indeed a very sad moment in human history... 

Is human progression heading for disaster...?
