Left Overs... and Lucky Red...

Left overs from Yesterday...and the day before...

Wednesday was Pi day... 

I had the Pi in front of my class on the wall... 25, maybe 26 digits of it... The students wanted to paint it on the wall and I okay-ed it... One day I noticed that one of the students was attempting to remember all the 25, maybe 26... digits... It amused me... and advised him not to bother... In this day and age who needs to remember junk... when all the information is at our finger tips...
Ross knew that I had studied English Literature also in the university...and he was amused that a mathy will study literature... I explained to him that literature was too dangerous to study when I was growing up... reading a wrong novel or analyzing in the wrong way will cost someone a lengthy jail term... banishment...
So Math was the safe option... where things are more exact and non-judgmental...
But now that knowledge is at our fingertips I am not bothered by spelling... I just write... and if it is spelled wrongly... the computer will underline it with red... and you click and it corrects it...
Remembering the Pi or spelling is a bit "Old fashioned" now...

The other day, I gave the five bottles to the women scavenging the garbage... She looked at me... surprised... poured out the water and kept the plastic bottles... 
In rich North America... no one should be obliged to live of the refuse... No one should collect bottles and survive on the cents that those provide...
It is our shame... It is the shame of society... liberal or conservative or middle of the road...

The market is dictating stupid stuff...!!!

I was reading the news today... and came across a funny item... In Russia they have introduced a lollipop in the image of Maria Sharapova, the famous tennis star who was recently suspended for doping... 

They say the "Invisible hand" of the market corrects everything.

But the "Invisible Hand" does not have any morality or human decency...

Just for profit they have introduced  Sharapova Lollipops... ! 

They market her... and they lick her... Sexism still survives and some of my younger friends complain that I am defending the females too much... !

Will anyone be abused if they make lollipops resembling Putin or any other male leader, like Obama...? Will anyone be amused to lick a male figure...?

I posed this question to my friends today... and they argued that of course Sharapova agreed to this commercial stunt... Indeed she must have been... But so do the prostitutes... They agree to sell their body and their soul too...

The system generates the stupidity and the "Invisible Hand" of the market has no morality...

The migrants attempting to cross a river... and arrive at the "Promised Land..."

But the Promised Land does not want them any more...

It is human tragedy... At first they were agitated and encouraged to travel to Europe... Just to shame the Arab regimes... But now, once the game is over, they are rejected...

They are going through extreme hardship and the migration has turn into an adventure and into "Human Comedy..."

Europe is attempting to bribe Turkey so as they will halt the "invasion"... But Turkey has another agenda... It will not harm Turkey to have a Trojan Horse of a large Muslim population in Europe... They may become handy to Turkey's aims and profit...

Last week, the EU and Turkey set out a plan to ease Europe's biggest refugee crisis since World War Two.
The North American and European governments initiated the Middle Eastern turmoil with their allies in the region-Saudi Arabia, Turkey and all the other despotic rulers...
and now they want to wash their hands off the dilemma... and they are rejecting the migrating masses...

A new twist on the war against the Islamic head coverings...

Egypt is claiming that the Islamic niqab-hijab-head coverings for women are JEWISH and NOT Islamic at all...

So Egypt will ban the un-islamic niqab... It comes from Jewish communities of the Middle East... It is a Jewish tradition...

Red is widely believed to be a lucky colour in China. So many believe that it's a good idea to wear some red clothing, or more specifically red underwear, during an exam.

When a person is particularly successful, there is a Chinese saying, "Are you wearing red underwear?"

Wear red... and be lucky...
