Rossie and the kid... And Also...

Rossie and the Kid

We did not need special occasions to celebrate... When we had time and felt like it we visited Canyon Creek... It was always fun.
But celebrations and get together events were extra special...
Ross,
I am sure you remember the time when we were having our Christmas dinner together... We had quite a few drinks and were is exceptionally jovial mood... Of course being together was in itself a high, but the drinks always helped... Just behind you there was a young couple with their 4-5 year old kid...
The kid was very lively... His eyes were sparkling like the stars in the heavens... They were full of mischievous sparkles...

I started toying with the kid from a distance... You noticed my attention and looked behind you... That was it... There was no stopping you... Your loud giggle and childish gibberish with the kid attracted the attention of his parents and the rest of the tables... The rest of the dinner was filled with wonderful wine and Rossie and the kid...
You were wonderful and playful and above all loud... You were a kid with the kid... There was no trace of the grown up Chaplain... and your eyes matched the heavenly sparkle of the kid... I could not hold your attention any more... You were siting with me, but you had a new partner... Rossie and the kid... It was amazing and amusing... I could not wish for a better Christmas celebration... kid's parents were being entertained too... and they were happy that they were having a good time with each other while their son was being babysitted by you... Your only regret was that the kid was indeed a kid and could not have wine with you... The rest was just a match... Rossie and the kid...
When the couple was ready to leave you chatted with them and praised the sparkles of the kid... and mischievous Rossie asked their permission to hug the kid... The parents did not mind... You hugged the kid and wished Merry Christmas...
I just hugged him... and then I hugged Rossie...

That was a wonderful Christmas treat... deserving after dinner brandy... and we had couple... It was Christmas after all... and we were happy and joyful... and just like kids...
The happy evening was with you the next day and you could not stop bragging about it all day...
You were fun and I enjoyed our times together...

 ... And also
I remember the times when hippies were on the margins of society... The mainstream society, the establishment despised them and wrote all kinds of disgusting articles about them and their drug habits and vulgar language and their way of life; their bell bottoms and colourful dressing... at times their unabashed nakedness and sexual etiquette... and free love...

The hippies loved J. R. Tolkien and his books were revered...
But the revulsion and criticism of the establishment did not last long...

But,
The greed of the establishment knows no bounds and the greed guided the profit motive and the imagination of the establishment opened up and incorporated the marginalized hippies in the mainstream and the fashion industry incorporated their way of cloths and living into the mainstream...
Colourful dresses and bell bottoms became the mode... and the hippies became part of the profit greed of the establishment...

History repeating itself...
The Islamic attire which is criticized by the West and despised by Western culture... encountered a "new"  attitude...
...And now...
The fashion industry opened up to the Islamic dress code... Dolce and Gabbana  introduced a new fashion line...
Where there is money... where there is profit Western Materialism follows... and it looks like the West sees an opening for more profit... After plundering the oil of the Middle East; after creating turmoil and war in the name of "Western Democracy" and "Arab Spring"... Western Civilization is going after the Islamic Culture...

Greed and profit always find their way and go after the jugular of cultures...

After all, the profit motive of Western society does not recognize any limits... and boundaries... It is based on the premise of GREED WITHOUT BORDERS...
