Ross,
I always wanted to write to you... but now that you are gone I am writing this to ALL- the public, and hopefully you will read it from above or from below... where ever you are now...
They say people gone forever are able to see everything...When we met 25 years ago I did not know what to make of you... You were a grown up adult, but the kid, Rossie as you called it, was radiant in everything that you did...
You were a mathematician, but without the numbers... You were a philosopher, but without the words... and, You were a theologian, but definitely without the dogma... Sum these up... You get a BEAUTIFUL human being... a genuine Rossie... And, I miss you...
Your loud chuckle was a treat... and when you said; "You are allowed..." it was your humaneness bubbling up to the surface and tickling the universe...
We had fun together when we were away from the teens of the school... Both of us liked them... We were energized by there carefree vigor, but then we needed "away time" from the youthful shallowness... We wanted away time to have time for a drink to untangle the absurdity of teaching; to attend a play and submerge in a temporal intellectual activity; to be enchanted by the melodies of the great and listen to the musical harmony in and above us; and above all roam the streets like liberated vagabonds taking in the sounds and sights of the street...
You loved the downtown and the hustle and bustle of the crowd... The downtown crowd triggered the Rossie within you and Rossie was fun; Rossie was an intellectually and spiritually liberated Ross... Of course the glass or two within you made Rossie bubbly too... and your enormously loud chuckle was definitely noticed by the passers by... and they were amused too...
Next I'll write about our favourite bar... The Canyon Creek... We had good times in there... good drinks and food and laughs... But that's for tomorrow...

A friend send me this photo and the note...
Hello,
As you have requested here is the pictures of the Maple in honour of our great friend Mr.Oakes in front of the school yard...
But Trudeau's enlightened way of thinking is still a rarity.
And just to extend the Canadian experience to the south of the border... Listening to the noise of the presidential candidates... I conclude that ALL of them are the same... with MINOR nuances... But id I am to vote... I will not hesitate to choose Hilary Clinton... Just because she is a women... There is the possibility that she will do things differently... Angela Merkel is doing it...better than the boys, and so why not she...?
