The Shame of our Civilization...

The Greed and profit of local governments... The dire economic condition and the roaming gangs of Islamic-Jihadists are driving people to despair... 
Migrants from sub-Sahara Africa are rushing to Europe... in boats which are not sea worthy... Human smugglers are making money out of human misery...
The Economies of sub-Saharan Africa are at the mercy of the industrialized  Europe... and North America... 
The people are poor and they do not have any hope out of the misery... Their only way out is to migrate to Europe...
The Mediterranean Sea, once the cradle of civilization, is becoming metamorphosing into the graveyard of many... and into our shame...

The Islamist-Jihadists in Nigeria and Somalia are making the bad situation worse... and promoting a migration of Africans to more stable societies of Europe... 

The reports are that migrants are paying anywhere between 4000 to 700 U.S. dollars... and then of course being crammed into unsafe vessels and sailing to the dangerous waters ... into the sea... and to their grave...

The Europeans have the African migrants and the Islamist-Jihadists of the Middle East and North Africa... 

In North America...Canada and the U.S. the migrants are from Central America...

People in Africa and Central America are desperate and to not see and hope for improvement... and in both cases human GREED and profit motive are making human traffickers to take advantage of human misery...

They say the migrant crisis in Africa and Central America is the "slavery" of the 21st century...

It is the shame of our civilization... When we have cheap crops from Central America, bananas and the like... we are happy and satisfied... But when migrants start arriving from the same places... we are alarmed and we loose our peace...

The Iraq wars... the Afghanistan debacle... the "Arab Springs..." turned out into a world class nightmare...

Instead of "democracies" the Islamist-Jihadists popped out on the scene...

So in a sense... The IslamistJihadists are the legitimate offspring of the Adventures of the Russian-East and NATO-West in the Middle East... and there is no end insight...

The Mediterranean was the basin of civilization... the birthplace of major religions...

Now it is becoming the graveyard of migrants attempting to cross to Europe... and the cemetery of Christians beheaded in the hands of Islamist-Jihadists...

Indeed the shame of our civilization of GREED and PROFIT...

The Islamist-Jihadists are active in the sands of Sahara too ...

But,

These atrocities did not start now... they have their roots in the Islamist-fascism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries when the Ottoman Turks began their policy of genocide of the Christians... The modern day Islamist-fascist regimes of Turkey continued those genocidal policies and the situation in the Middle East can be traced to those fascists policies...

North American Teens... They are bored and they are deadly... The GREED of our society is is reflecting on the new generation...

Three teenagers said... "We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody."
They literally went for a man hunt...

Christopher Lane, an Australian attending East Central University, was jogging when he was shot in the back by a gun fired by Luna.

Chancey Allen Luna was found guilty of first-degree murder Friday for his role in the August 2013 drive-by shooting of Christopher Lane, a 23-year-old college student in Duncan, about 80 miles south of Oklahoma City. Luna was 16 at the time of the shooting.

A jury recommended Friday that Luna spend life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to court records. Because he was under 18 when the crime was committed, and he is not eligible for the death penalty. 
The vehicle's driver, Michael Jones, pleaded guilty in March to second-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Jones, who was 17 at the time of the murder, will be eligible for parole starting in 2051, according to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections.

Prosecutors dropped first-degree murder charges filed against the third suspect, then only 15, after he agreed to testify against Luna and Jones,

After the verdict, Luna appeared to be crying as deputies led him out of the courtroom in handcuffs, whimpering "I'm sorry" to a reporter.

It is the shame of our civilization of GREED and PROFIT... 
Three teens are bored out of their minds and they literally go for a man hunt and kill a 23-years-old college student...
Our GREED and PROFIT based society has generated boredom and ennui in teens... the video games are not a panacea and at times they compound the boredom...
Maybe if societal values are changed and new community norms of sharing and peace and harmony prevail... maybe, just maybe... the teens will think of going for "random acts of kindness..." and not random act of shooting...
