The Odessy of Armenian Orphan Rug

The Orphan Rug
After the Armenian Genocide in 1915 orphans were scattered throughout Europe and the Middle East.
Some were rescued by charitable organizations and grouped in orphanages.
An orphanage in Lebanon run by the American Near East Relief Society made a group of girls to weave a rug...That's how it was called The Orphan Rug.
The Rug is presented to President Coolidge

But successive Turkish governments have denied the Armenian Genocide....
And Turkey is an ally of the U.S.of A.
So successive U.S. administrations have attempted to please their Turkish ally and took The Orphan Rug and stored it away. The Obama administration even denied to loan it to the Smithsonian.....
Turkey and their American Ally are plottin
Regardless of the political connotations, the rug is said to be an extraordinary work of art. As Kennicott, The Washington Post's art and architecture critic, described it, it is a "complicated, richly detailed work that would hold its own even in the largest and most ceremonial rooms."

They say, if you repeat something often enough it will become believable and eventually replace the truth...
That's what the Turks are trying to do...
But recently upon the persistent struggle of the Armenian people for the truth, the White House has decided to display The Orphan Rug again.
I guess Turkish repeated lies did not prevail.
I guess the truth about the Armenian Genocide will come out in bits and pieces...
I am sure Turkey eventually will pay for the Armenian Genocide that they committed...After all, eventually the truth will prevail and justice will triumph.
H.K.
