How are you?

I really loved the last blog post. I know many people who do not believe that climate change is a thing because of political/religious/Idon'tknowwhat reasons and it concerns, angers, annoys, and irritates me. It is clear. It is clear that scientific evidence proves that climate change is happening incredibly fast. It is clear that the CO2 levels and extreme temperatures/weather patterns are occurring more and more. It is clear that in a few dozens of years, this planet will be inhabitable. It is clear that we are digging our own graves.

I hope people wake up and put aside their political, religious, and fantastical differences and live this life and let their children/grandchildren/great-grandchildren enjoy what they were able to enjoy. Two hands working together can accomplish tons more than thousands clasped in prayer. And if everyone thinks that one person cannot do anything, we will have a world full of ignorant, unwise, lazy, selfish, and uncaring humans. The word humans, to me, had a positive connotation so far... I'm afraid it will change into a negative one... I hope it doesn't.

The rally in New York gave me a few drops of hope in a long drought of hopelessness.

My daughters everyday inquire..."Dad! How are you?" and I reply... "Now that I hear your voice, I am better..."; or "Now that I see you, I am much better..."

So, dear young friend... I am good and ..."Now that I read your message, I am better..."

I appreciate your sentiments, specially the fact that you are environmentally so sensitive... You are correct, indeed this is the only planet we have ....and there is no plan B... and there is no planet B...

But, I would have been much better... if you and your friends had participated in the marches in your cities wherever you are... 

I am happy that New York inspires you and "gives you few drops of hope" in a at times despondent situation...

But, I would have been much better, if you and your friends had discussed the math of environmental degradation... 

The beauty of math is that it opens up to any topic...to any subject...

I will feel much better when you transcend the mundane math of numbers and shatter the confines of the four-walled classrooms and flourish in the MATH WITHOUT NUMBERS... and ACT in harmony with nature... and defend our MOTHER EARTH ... because that's the only "mother" we have...

Thanks for sending me mails of interesting subjects which give some perspectives of life. The earlier mail about education and nature was excellent, I read it twice. The last one about the climate change contributing global warming is really a good one. 

My daughters everyday inquire... How are you dad...?
"I am much better... now that you are here...", I answer...
And, whenever I receive a note from my friends... I feel much better... too.
But, I understand... People have "life" and young people are more anxious to catch the bug of "life"...

I am happy that you are enjoying my scribbles that once in a while I send them to you... But the originals are in my blog... all of them are posted their... and I will be happier if you make the effort and go to the blog posts instead of waiting for me to send you one of them every now and then... or once a week...

I am happy that you agree with me ... that the world and the environment is worth cherishing... is worth defending...

The Japanese boats are being ready for hunting dolphins...

The dolphins are the victims of human GREED...

They are killed for meat...

They are killed for money...

They are killed because of the insatiable GREED of human beings...

After erosion there is mud slides... and after erosion the ice starts to melt... and there are ice-slides...

The awe inspiring nature... is crumbling under the heels of human GREED...

It is magnificent...But humans will make is crumble and ruin all...

They say once the icebergs crack ... humans will rush in and search for oil...

The Russians and Canadians and the U.S. are vying for melting ice... territory... and are already smelling the exhilarating aroma of oil.... 

The icebergs will melt and the oil spills will begin...

War...

And then this is human devastation....

...The oil fields of Syria... after the bombing...

... If it is not human GREED ... It is human competition...

You compete for territory... You compete for grades... You compete for favours... 

You compete to kiss the ass of Big Brothers...

...and you are sniffing Big Brothers' ass...

...and you are yearning for another lick... and another lick...

Monkeys...Donkeys ....and Humans...

Violence is not proper behaviour....
Human beings have reasoning and they can control their animal instincts and urges... Greed should not destroy our ability to reason... and our ability to shape out future for the better...

Male chimpanzees guarding their territory … They have set out boundaries and they want others to stay out of their territory…

It reminds me of wars and "territorial integrity"… 

The group is stronger than the lone chimp... I guess they are also relying on group mentality...

Researchers in England have established that chimpanzees are naturally violent and humans have not contributed to it. of course, by extension and extrapolation , they are also arguing that human nature is naturally violent too. 

Monkeys are good specimen to explain human behaviour… they say.

But, I guess I will qualify the extension of this research to humans… Chimpanzees are good animals…without the sophisticated thinking capabilities of humans…  So even if aggression comes to us naturally…but we are not mindless chimpanzees… Of course my assertion goes to the general and particulars are always the exception to the established norms and behaviour…

Growing up…babies cry for help… they are not violent and aggressive… May be the cry for help and the noise is annoying…but that’s all it is… That is not aggression…

Later… in kindergarten and elementary grades… by and large the kids behave… Of course there are the bullies and the bullied… but that is not the majority… and those who are bullied do not expose aggressive behaviour…But rather they carry the scars quietly… They are ashamed that they are bullied… and maybe, they harm themselves physically and mentally too… But in the majority of cases the kids will not expose aggressive behaviour…

Later… in high school… the kids behave well… of course there will be the odd incident…like the stabbing in a Etobicoke, Canada yesterday… But that will not be the norm… The aggression in high schools is not the general rule… There will be violent incidents every now and then… But not in general…aggressive behaviour is the oddity…

Actually I will argue that aggression is induced by GREED and learned behaviour … The growing kids will be aggressive because society has pushed consumerism to its extremes… The fashion and the new electronic gadgets… are enticing and “must have” items… The kids desperately desire them… and if they cannot get them…the “desire” will metamorphose into aggressive impulses…may be “stealing”…may be “selling drugs”… and all the rest…

Consumerism and human GREED are engendering an aggressive and learned behaviour…

The kids do not have aggressive behaviour…innately… But because of our consumer society…but because of our materialist human values… the kids are learning behaviour which is aggressive and violent too…

I will argue that the kid’s aggression is learned behaviour… They are imitating their elders…

The wars are rampant… Russians go and aggressively grab part of Ukraine… The kids learn it …

The U.S. declares war for non-existent “weapons of mass destruction” … the kids learn from it…

Tony Blair, the British prime minister… despite his declarations that he is a born-again Christian, lies about the Middle east… and joins the U.S. in the Iraqi war… the kids learn from him…

The Islamist-Jihadists behave violently…They behead people…most of us are disgusted with their behaviour… But some kids in England and in the U.S. and in France and in Australia…get a “kick” out of this stupid and inhuman behaviour… and just to get “even’ with the adult world… They join this Islamist-Jihadist… They join them out of spite and rejection of the Big-Brother-adult world around them… Their behaviour is inhuman… because our GREED is unlimited…

They are not Chimps… But they learn from us… They argue… “I will show you how you will have unlimited GREED…” and unfortunately they do…violently…inhumanly… But they do…

The principal in a school in Japan lies about a student bullying a female…and suspends him … calls the police… and gives him all kinds of trouble…because of his adult ego… The kids learn from his unethical and unprofessional conduct… The kids are not chimpanzees… they see though the principal… they see through the teachers… and they learn to lie to get away with things…they learn to bully to get what they want…

Aggression is not normal behaviour…

We do not see kids jumping over each other in the caf… But we teach them to jump over each other on the football field… We teach them to be violent… We want them to be aggressive… We want them to belligerently advance to the touchdown…line…

The kids are good…but adults need to behave and check their GREED…

Materialism…and consumerism … and human GREED are teaching the kids to be violent… Consumerism has hijacked ALL our holidays… Materialism has corrupted all our values… GREED has devastated human behaviour…

The kids have no blame… They are imitating the adult world… They are neither monkeys nor donkeys… They are just learning inhuman ways from us…

If we share instead of greedily usurp…The kids will learn to share. If we cooperate with each other instead of punching the hell out of each other…The kids will learn to cooperate… If we coexist in PEACE instead of waging wars, instead of “letting the dogs out”… The kids will learn to live in PEACE…

Aggression is a learned behaviour… and humans are NOT Chimps… I definitely will differ… and I definitely will not demean myself to be a chimp or behave like chimps…

The educators have to teach… human values… and materialism and consumerism and GREED are NOT human values…

Educators MUST be re-educated… in the proper human values and behaviour…

I hope… I dream… for a better tomorrow…

....And on the military front... Reports are that rape and sexual violence is common in armies ... all over the world...

Recently... Gay rape has surfaced in the U.S. army... but the Big Brothers in control have reacted very flippantly...Check the response of an army general to a rank and file soldier who has reported rape...

Of course humans are not chimps...of course violent behaviour is not proper for humans... But GREED has at times overcome logic... Lust has overtaken reason...

Violence against males and females...do occur... but it is a learned behaviour... and the army should be more responsive to it...

We cannot dismiss it...Otherwise we will be as funny as the monkeys and as stupid as the donkeys....

SAVE THE WORLD - ACT NOW....

Climate Change... Really...?
Another UN conference on the ENVIRONMENT.... Discussing is of course GOOD, but ACTING is much better...

Two friends...One a teacher-colleague, and the other a relative...had quite identical narratives about climate change...

The teacher-colleague was a very conservative religious fascist...He argued that the world evolves in cycles and there will be ice ages and dry ages...and so on...and concluded that fossil fuel is not contributing to climate change... God bless him...I do not know where he is now...

The relative is a social and economic conservative...the libertarian type... he argues that fossil fuel has nothing to do with climate change...It is the world evolution...and mentions the extinction of dinosaurs as example...

I listened to both... I did not argue with them ... It is futile to argue with dogmatic fascists or conservative zealots... I listened to them...and endured the pain politely...

But the climate is changing...and the world is being destroyed... We, humans, are the major contributors...to the destruction... After all, we are destroying the rain forests of Brazil and we are burning the fuel and are in love with our cars... (When I wrote ... “love with cars” a question popped up in my mind... “Has anyone married a car...?”) ... I know it is just a stupid thought... and makes the point...because it is stupid...

The Big Brothers gathered in the New York...will say good things...they will even sign good treaties... That’s what they did in Kyoto... But then returned home... and dismantled the treaty bit by bit... That’s what the Canadian government did... that’s what the U.S. congress is wallowing in...

The Big Brothers... The allies and defenders of Big Business... are in collusion... but there is no Planet B...

Half a million...500 000 people demonstrated and demanded action...It was this weekend in new York....

People all over the world ... They reported 160 cities...held demonstrations to defend what God gave us... A beautiful earth... WORTH DEFENDING...

People...asking and demanding change in Big brother policies...

Thousands are demanding to protect the environment...So as people will have breathing air...and clean water...

Thousands are marching for decent living...for clean air...for clean water and for food free of harmful hormones...

Two Examples...

1. Chernobyl....

First they contaminated with nuclear pollution... and now...

They are promoting it as a nuclear tourist site...Just like promoting the eco-tourism in Brazil...

Human GREED has no bounds...

Big Brothers...be them Russian or Ukrainian or Canadian or European... have no shame... They will promote everything and anything for a buck...

Once a wise teacher,God bless his soul, told our class that "human GREED will make people sell even their mothers and wives..."

So depressingly sad... and may be ironically true...!

2. Fukishima

I still remember the tsunami... The huge waves that tackled the Fukushima nuclear power plant...

People visit and take photos ...

The air is polluted...Breathing is dangerous....

Indeed Human GREED does not recognize any boundaries...

I guess Chernobyl and Fukushima are examples of "GREED WITHOUT BORDERS....."

The destruction and uprooting of entire towns... Just because GREED does not recognize any borders...

Entire cities under the spell of Fukushima...nuclear contamination...

...AND BELCHING OUT THE POISON AND THEN SPILLING NUCLEAR POLLUTION...

Check the contaminated areas....and my religious fascist colleague and my socio-economic conservative relative insist that we, humans, are not contributing to climate change... They say..."it is just the world evolving...!"

What will be do with all the barrels of nuclear waste...We are producing pollution and we do not know what to do with it...

May be the wiz-kids....will find a way....!
